OK, I'm officially starting my cutting phase for the summer next week. My question is, since I'm looking to lean up and reduce my calorie consumption, can I still use by mass routine, ie heavy weights/low reps or would it be better to go to less weights/higher reps. I would like to stay with the heay/low reps because I'm still making decent progress.

Hey Blu
I'm currently on a cutting diet and I can tell you that your lifts WILL go down because of the lowered cal intake.
However, I would keep the same routine, after a couple weeks, my numbers started to get back up there again.

Agreed, always lift for mass...bulk or cut!

I agree, there is no need to change your work-out (except maybe add some cardio), although you will lose some strength and have to make some adjustments with your weights.

Thanks for the replies. I'll keep my current mass routine. I just hope I don't get to discouraged when my gains come to a halt with the reduction in calories.
STB - are you following the Carb-Up every 4th day routine or more of the zone diet. Just wondered how tired I'd be.

I'm using the carb up one, I was feeling real tired for the first couple weeks of it but I'm good now, I haven't been doing a whole lot of cardio, maybe once or twice a week for 20min max.
So far, I believe almost all the weight I've dropped has been fat so I'm happy so far, bin going at it for around 3 weeks and have dropped around 5-6lb so far.
