hi im trying to calculate how much calories i should take ina day. Last night i did the math and i found out i take in about 2000 calories a day. Im 6 foot and weigh 185 is that too low should it be higher? does anyone know a reallly helpful website

Thank you for your help

well, that would be ballpark, 185 (your bodyweight) X 12 = 2220 calories.

obviously everyone is different, activity level, age, metabolism, etc. So, there is no EXACT number.

what is your goal? gain weight, lose weight, maintain weight?

my goal is to get lean but gain muscle and i know it cant be done at the same time well it can but slowly so i say get lean that build up

if you're trying to get lean, yes your calories are important but so is the food you're eating.

basically you would need to stay on a certain daily caloric intake, say 2200 cals, and measure progress with a scale and if you can measure your bodyfat weekly, or every 2 weeks.

you can use www.fitday.com to track daily calories

I still prefer to suggest people simply count what they eat for a few days, and dont cheat yourself by changing the diet.

Add it up, and you should have a close guestimate as to how your metabo operates.

I agree, but it's not necessarily going to give you a close guestimate to your metabolism. Many people eat too much, hence our obese society, and many eat to little and ultimately shut their metabolisms down.
