I'm new to this forum and I'm looking to shed about 15lbs of fat,
I'm female 5'6 and 154lbs. (most people say I don't look it, and I can still see some muscle under the flab), but I was wondering If this diet needs some improvement for my purposes.

meal 1: kashi go lean crunch cereal & skim milk or optimum nutrition protein shake( 1 scoop and 1 frozen banana with ice)

meal 2: 2 slices of whole wheat bread with 1 tbls. of lowfat peanut butter.

meal 3: romaine lettuce, 1 can of tuna, 1 hard boiled egg, 1 pinch of lowfat cheddar cheese, lowfat Italian dressing

meal 4: protein bar

meal 5: medium chicken breast with vegetables

I'm also trying to incorporate 5 days of cardio and 3 day of weights.

I would start with the sticky at the top of this forum title Nutritional Info - Newbies Start Here.

There is a plethora of information on there.

I also checked this diet on fitday and it said it amounted to 1574 cals. 19% fat, 39% carbs, and 42% protein is this alright for my dieting and workout needs

how long have you been on this current diet?

what type of cardio? duration, etc?

I've been on this diet for about 1 week and a half, I've been expierimenting to get something that seems sound, ( i forgot to add an apple with meal # 3)

I do interval aerobics for about 45 min. and weights 3 xs a week for 45 mins.

uncooked oats are tastier

Diet:
I would say eat your banana post work-out rather than with meal 1, and eat the apple with meal 1 rather than meal 3. Add some protein to meal 2.

I guess I would say continue that diet (with my suggestions) for another week or two, drop the cardio down, 45 minutes 5 days per week is quite a bit if you only need to lose 15lbs. I would say 20 minute interval cardio 3 days per week, and lift weights the other 3 days, and one rest day.

Do you have any method to measure progress? Scale, bf calipers? Take the measurement now, continue what you're doing and measure again in one or two weeks. I say this so you can figure out where you need to be as far as calories, etc.

Ditto to what Prince said. plus:

-lower the cardio.
-increase the weights.
-Replace some of your carbs with fat (i'd say increase fat to 25%)
-Try to incorporate flax seed oil into your meals (1-2tbsn/day, 1 tbsn/meal as a fat source).
-Make your meals more balanced. With the exception of post w/o and maybe breakfast, try to get a little of each macro into your meals.

EDTI: Upon further inspection, your kcals look pretty low. Especially from the beginning of a diet. I'd say at your BW, you should increase kcals to 1800-1900/day.
