'Nuff said.

Ya think?

As a hockey fan who really does not care who wins that series, I think you are wrong. Philly is rolling right now. I can not remember the last time they were playing this well.

Philly in five.

Think I have anything to worry about?

So anyway, this brings the current count to four Leafs fans on the board? Go ahead guys, keep recruiting, just a few more and it'll finally be a fair fight.

The SENS against the FLYERS is going to be a good serie.

Posted by: ALBOB

I sure hope so. Both those teams need to pull their respective heads out of their asses when it comes to the play-offs. If they play like they CAN it will be awesome.

You telling me...I've been listening to many radio sports show lately and they all agree that this year's SENs are way different then any other years.
-A-They won the PRESIDENT's TROPHEE
-B-They are not the pushover team they use to be.
-C-They aquired talent players in the trade session(players that count in the NOW as oppose to future considerations.)
-D-They have good goaltenders, that can save their ass' when needed.
-E-...

On the surface might not seem to matter, but eventually it will.

I know for a fact that the players know that the further they go in the playoffs, the more $$$ they get.(more revenues to the owners, means more $$$ to the players.)
Taking that as an inssentive to play well!!!
I feel very confident about DA SENS this year...
You can say anything,it won't matter...

Really?

Da Sens are a bunch of whiny little crybaby bitches who couldn't put a puck in a net if they had bulldozers.

How's that?

You're looking at this all wrong ALBOB when Philly loses in 4 at least you won't have to see it.

Posted by: IainDaniel

And then when they win in four they will meet up with Islanders!

Posted by: IainDaniel

DA BUDS!

Ok so they didn't play well in the second Period, but it shows you that a poor effort by the Leafs is still good enough to beat the Flyers :choke:

Touche' Touche'

You win game one but remember, it's best of SEVEN. You also paid a VERY high price for that one game, we'll see what happens to both teams now that the first game jitters are gone.

Posted by: Rusty

I was not very impressed the way the leafs played hockey last night. They have a kind of high school attitude about the game. (kill or be killed)

Posted by: IainDaniel

I agree they stunk last night, but they found a way to pull out the Victory and that is what playoff hockey is all about. Antropov might be gone for a while with a cracked bone in his foot, he will be missed and has really stepped up his game this year.

BTW, is Dero hiding this morning after the Sens got dumped by an eighth place team, not only that shut out. Little Deja vu?

Like previously mentioned,it's only the first of seven games...

I hear the all too familiar coughing and wheezing from Ottawa....oh yes, it must be the Senators choking....AGAIN!!!

Like last year, the Leafs will kick Phillies ass. Get your hanky out Albob, you'll be needing it to wipe the tears of shame and dissapointment from your eyes......AGAIN!!!!

Psssst Crunch...
What happened to the 4 game sweep you were talking of to Booby???
EH?
Da Buds are going to get NIPPED!!!

Posted by: seyone

I think the Flyers looked pretty good in both games but especially in game two. If they can match that intensity the rest of the series than Toronto has no chance.

WOW, I think this is a first, you and I disagreeing on Flyers hockey. I think they SUCKED in the first game. At least for the first period and a half, too nervous. They lost ALL the physical battles. That's exactly how they won game 2, they beat the shit out of Toronto. Let's hope the beatings continue to be delivered by Philly.

Posted by: IainDaniel

The Leafs had to give them one, kinda like a sympathy fuck, they just felt bad!

the flyers scored 3 goals and only allowed 14 shots in game one. I think with the exception of the goaltending and some bad defensive breakdowns they looked good.

Well THAT didn't work out. Any thoughts on the game? Overall I think Philly looked lifeless. Look at how many asses were laying on the ice after big hits and every single one of them had a Flyer uniform on it. The Leafs dominated the game physically.

A side note: The officiating SUCKED. Luckily it sucked equally for both teams so I can't blame the refs for the Flyer's loss.

Posted by: IainDaniel

The officiating has sucked for all series, I don't quite understand, usually they let them play the games during the playoffs.

Philly is going to have a good chance tonite, as Mogilny is a scratch from the arrant stick of Roenick, and then all the fuss about Shayne Corson Quitting the Team Yesterday. I hope the Buds can preservere with these adversities but I don't think so!

Posted by: ALBOB

Mogilny's a scratch? The last I read he was gonna play. Now THAT sucks. I obviously want the Flyers to win but not THAT way. That whole incident between Mogilny and Roenick is one example of the piss poor officiating so far. Calling Mogilny for tripping certainly wouldn't have been out of the question but come on, NOT calling Roenick for the high stick? That's rediculous! I kept hearing the announcers harp on the fact that neither of the refs saw it and I have a VERY hard time buying that. Besides, on matters of penalties THAT severe, can't the linesmen step in and tell the refs about it? I thought they were allowed to do that on four and five minute majors. Lastly, where the hell did the obstruction penalty go? Just like all the analists said, come play-off time those penalties go out the window and it's back to old time dump and grab. I HATE THAT SHIT!

P.S. What the hell is Corson thinking?

Posted by: IainDaniel

Yeah it was annouced just before lunch. It probably was a trip, but the rules also state that the player must have complete control of his stick at all times. Similar occurance in the first Ottawa Game, the goof Chris Neil Tripped up one of the Islander players and the player accidently High-sticked Chris. The player received a one-game suspension for the incident.

I have to agree that Clutch and Grab Shit has to go, enough is enough.

Corson has an ego, he needs to be the center of attention, and since he couldn't do it on the ice this was his best outlet, he is too well liked in the dressing room anyway!

Yep, I completely agree. Even though he's a Flyer, Roenick should have gone.

Quote:

Well, the good news for the Leaf's is that he wasn't producing shit anyway so it's no big loss.

Quote:

Did you mean he is or is NOT well liked?

Posted by: IainDaniel

Whoops! it should have been NOT!

Anyway hope tonites game is a thriller like Monday's. I get butterflies just watching these games, but monday's I couldn't get my eyes unglued from the screen!

Philly really let me down in game 3. they Let Toronto dictate the play. The Leafs came out crashing and banging from the first drop of the puck and the Flyers didn't know what hit them. I really hope they can pull their heads out of their asses and play some solid hockey tonight.

I totally agree wiith you about the officiating, it was terrible. It is common for the officials to let things go in the playoffs but that was ridiculous on both sides. How about that hit Roenick took from behind? I believe he served a suspension during the season for a similiar hit.

damn, I can't believe this game is going into the 6th peroid

Yeah, yeah, stupid question. A game goes into triple over time and I'm the moron asking if it's a good game. But seriously, was it exciting?

Yeah, the game was great if you are a Philly fan! They outshot the Buds 76-35 or something like that!

One thing, wouldn't I just love to see Keith Primeau in a Leaf Jersey!

Philly more than deserved that victory, scary thing is that the Flyers can't find a way to close a game. There powerplay absolutely blows chunks.

Posted by: ALBOB

Quote:
Originally posted by IainDaniel There powerplay absolutely blows chunks.
Ain't that the damn truth. Primeau, Recchi, Leclair, Roenick and Amonte and their powerplay is 2 for 27 in the series? That blows HUGE chunks. I thought they had it fixed when they posted Recchi out on the point a month or so ago, looks like they found a way to fuck it up again.

Posted by: IainDaniel

What happened to freakin Amonte, he was meant to be this great acquisition and I don't think I have even noticed him on the ice!

Posted by: ALBOB

Typical Flyers hockey, he scored something like 10 goals in 11 games during the regular season and then has gone south during the play-offs. Now to be fair, they're not doing BAD. What's their goals per game average so far? 2.5? 3? Roman Suckmydick had a GAA of less than two during the regular season and he's not exactly been a shining star in the series either. It kind of gets back to the Red Wings argument of who's responsible; the goalie for letting too many in or the offense for not putting ENOUGH in. In this case I tend to blame both, they have the offensive firepower to be scoring five and six per game but have been flat. At the same time Cechmanek has continued to prove his doubters correct, he's not a bigtime goalie. He can't handle play-off pressure.

Posted by: IainDaniel

Any team can be a regular season team, but there is a certain grit or desire, that makes a team a playoff contender, and even though the Leafs haven't won a cup in 35 years, they always find a way to compete with teams that have a greater skill level in the playoffs! For some reason the Flyers can't find that magic, much like those freakin' Senators (little shot at Dero)

Posted by: ALBOB

I absolutely HATE to agree with Barry (S)mellrose but in this case I just might have to. He says the team that comes out of this series will represent the East in the finals.

Quote:

Although, for Dero's sake, I'm glad they're hanging tough. (Nah, not really for Dero, I just don't like New York teams. )

Just out of curiosity (sp?) why the hell is the Leaf/Flyer Game on a Saturday Afternoon. God Damn NHL! I can only drink for so long before I pass out j/k

I'm not questioning that as much as I am whether or not it will be SHOWN. Fucking basketball and baseball.

Hockey takes number 1 priority here in Canada screw the Jays and Raptors. Anyway just get Directv with the cheater card, then you can watch hockey as much as you want!

Dude, I've got Direct TV and even have one of the old style cards, I just need to find someone who can program it. Nice thing to say in an open forum, eh?

Posted by: seyone

damn, I was so tired last night from a long day at work. It's a damn good thing the Flyers made it worth my while!!

Posted by: seyone

damn, they did it. The Flyers finally put those Leafs away.

Posted by: Dero

Seeya at the end of da week...
You going to partake in the second serie pool???

This serie should be interesting...
DA FLYERS 'gainst DA SENS!!!!

Posted by: IainDaniel

Kudos to Philly they more than deserved this series. The Leafs blew chunks other than a few moments. Pathetic thing is that the series lasted 7 games. Good luck to Philly, but I am on side with Dero for this Series. Always supporting Canada!

Quote:

By the third period I didn't know whether to be overjoyed or downright pissed. Obviously I was happy that Philly won but I felt I'd been ripped off. I tuned in to watch a professionsl hockey game, not a damn scrimmage session.

(One more reason to hate Barry Melrose: "It will be impossible for Philly to generate that same intensity in game #1 against Ottawa." Fuck you Mullethead! )

Posted by: crunch

I agree. I would have felt better if we lost 3-2 or something, that game was a total waste of time.

Posted by: Dero

Honestly speaking...
It's DA STANLEY CUP,anything can happen,
look at Detroit and Colorado...
Scratches,bad puck bounces,bad reffing...
SHIT HAPPENS!!!
