Can the Wings do it?

(CLICK HERE here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Can they come back from an 0-2 start again?

Posted by: I Are Baboon

The won something like 20 of their final 24 games. No reason they can't win the next four of five.

Posted by: mmafiter

Unfortunately yes, I think they will come back and win the series.

Posted by: tucker01

I hope Cujo, can't keep putting up the shitty performances, would be nice to see Detroit eliminated!

Posted by: david

It's all about the ratings and Nevada, so I say it'll be close or they just might win

Posted by: seyone

they did it last year, I really hope they don't do it again.

Posted by: Dero

I don't think so...

Posted by: I Are Baboon

To quote Steve Irwin:

CRIKEY!!!

Posted by: tucker01

Can I change my vote now! Cujo Blows

Posted by: I Are Baboon

Yup, Coju costs the Wings another win yesterday.

Posted by: Dero

Can they come back from a 3/0 losing serie???
Only twice in the history of THE NHL has this EVER been done!!!

Can they? Yes.
Will they? No.

I hope they prove me wrong. Even if we lose, it's ok. Three cups in the last six years is nothing to get upset about. And at least it's not Colorado or Dallas we're losing to.

Posted by: Dero

Why the hell not????????

Posted by: I Are Baboon

Because Detroit's goaltending sucks right now. And it's one thing to come back on a team that isn't that good, but the Ducks are a very good team that finished the regular season with 95 points or so. As much as I'd like to see Detroit come back, my brain is telling me that it ain't gonna happen.

Posted by: Rusty

It ain't gonna happen. Not with Cujo. I've been saying for weeks now, They need to get rid of him. He is worthless when the pressure is on.

Posted by: I Are Baboon

It would have been nice to have Cujo ten years ago.

Why?

Posted by: I Are Baboon

He was a helluva lot better when he was young, he was just stuck on so-so teams.

Young Cujo + current Red Wings = Stanley Cup.

Posted by: crunch

I don't think Cujo is your problem. Detroit has scored a pathetic 4 goals in the series. How bout you pick on some of your forwards not someone who is allowing 2 goals in a game.

I haven't watched any of the games but I don't understand the complaints about the goaltending.

Well there you go. You have not watched the games, so you have not seen the soft goals Cujo has allowed. It's one thing for him to be beaten, but it's another to give up goals that should be stopped as well as misplay the puck.

The Wings are averaging 42 shots a game in this series. The Ducks' goalie is simply unbeatable right now.

'Boon, you going to take dat from a Bud fan????

It wouldn't of mattered, he has always been a choke in the big games. Edmonton has always provided a reasonable team, and St.Louis was looking to go all the way when they acquired Joseph, all I can say is Choke!

Posted by: Dero

I assume I'm the target of dat last comment...

Posted by: tucker01

Nope, just stating that goaltending is key, and Detroit sucks, but I guess we already knew that.

From the devoted Bud Fan.

Posted by: Dero

Oh,I see!!!
Well we all know that Kujo sucks,as to say that the wings do,I wouldn't go that far!!!

Aren't you due for a rake???

Now I KNOW you're only referring to the Wings goaltending, Mr No-Cups-Since-1967.

Posted by: tucker01

IAB, don't be mad it's ok!

I am not really concerned with what happened in past seasons, all that matter's is the present, and the BUDS keep finding a way to win!

GO LEAFS!

Dero, Can't we all be friends, just because there is envy from the Ottawa fans at the way a franchaise can be run or should I say not run into the ground

Yeah, I keep telling myself that about my beloved Red Sox.

I think it's actually good that I haven't seen a game because you guys seem to be on a witch hunt.

Detriot shouldn't even be in the position where 1 bad goal can sink them against a team like Anaheim.

Look at it this way:
Cujo: GAA = 1.89, Save % = .925
Detroit sucks 0-3

BELFOUR: GAA = 2.90, Save % = .906
Leafs lead 2-1

Why because when down 2-0 in a game (game 3) the leaf forwards can get it up and get in there while Detriot is still fiddling with the bra strap. If I were a Detriot fan I'd be more frustrated that the number 1 offence in the league can't seem to score and not that my goaltender lets in 2 goals in a game.

Detroit's goaltending may not be good enough to win the cup but it's certainly good enough to win this series.

Like you said.......You have not watched a Wings game.

I can see where you are coming from in most of your post, but Anaheim is a good team. Give them credit where it's due. 40-27-9 for 95 points in the regular season.

Teams win championships because their goaltenders rise up when the teams needs them to. Cujo has been a HUGE disappointment. This is the first time I have blamed a Wings goalie for the team's struggles.

Is it too late to vote?

Posted by: Rusty

That one lone winning vote is mine.........What did I win?

Posted by: Rusty

Did you notice during the Colorado games, they kept showing scotty Bowman watching from a box seat? Curtis Joseph has a contract for two more seasons with the Wings. I look for Lagecy to start next season. I also look for a coaching change in Detroit. I also look to see Steve Yzerman to retire due to his injuries.

Posted by: ALBOB

I tend to side with crunch on this one. I don't think it's as much Cujo's fault as the rest of the team, he had ZERO goal support. Speaking as a Flyer's fan, I know what I'm talking about on that subject.

The coach is just a rookie and Bobby Clarke isn't your GM, I think he'll stay. At least for one more year.

Stevie Y might not be the only one who's seen his last face-off in a Wing's uniform, question is, how long do your ride those old horses? When is it time to start re-building with some young blood? Time's looking pretty right to me.

Well, this is not the first time you and I dissagree. It was those same old guys that brought home the cup last year. And when Cujo lets those soft goals by him, it's time for him to go. Detroit has always been a very defensive team. That is how Bowman built that team. So to say that he had no goal support is not accurate. The bottom line is the Ducks have a better goalie. And run a tighter offensive line. And I'm fuckin pissed off at Detroit right now. They should have been making adjustments after the second game in the playoffs.

Now THAT we can agree on.

Sorry......I'm just really upset about the Wings right now. Hell it was so obvious, I could have done a better job.

Oops sorry, my evil (nice) twin took over there for a while. Ummmm, where were we? Oh yeah, THE RED WINGS SUCK!!! I'm glad they're gone so they'll quit stinking up the place. They should be banned from the whole damn league for sucking so bad.

Better?

But seriously, I've been there and know how much it sucks to watch your team GIVE away a series.
