Hi all, I have just done a blood test sometime ago, and found that my triglyceride and uric acid are beyond normal ranges. My understanding at this time is that to lower triglyceride I need to reduce my carb intake. I think I will be able to do this as I am starting on NHE diet plan next week, which allows very limited carb intake. But this diet (and I think most bodybuilding oriented diets) recommends diets with high protein (and high fat), while my current understanding is that in order to lower uric acid in fact I need to consume less protein. How should I resolve this situation? If I eat less carbs I need to eat more protein, then how about my uric acid? If I eat less protein to normalize my uric acid then I need to eat more carbs, then how about my triglyceride? I surely cannot eat less carbs and less protein, and get most of my cals from fat alone, can I?
Your advises are greatly appreciated.

what did your doctor say?
You may want to see a dietition for this type of health question. If someone here gave you a specific answer/advice there could be a liability issue down the line if you had any problems.

I have not consulted any doctor or dietition yet, except for the triglyceride problem which I have had for about 2 years, a doctor simply advised to reduce carbs intake (but did not say how much). My uric acid has been fine before, just the last blood test that it is abnormal. I am hesitant to consult with a dietition here because the diet scheme which is common in Indonesia now is still generally high carb low protein/fat, while I understand that this is actually rather obsolete and not particularly suitable for bodybuilding. Therefore I was hoping to get some advises here from people who are in bodybuilding world, though I realize advises here are not to be equated with a physician's advise.

No it's not, a high protein diet is going to be the most beneficial for bodybuilding to support anabolism and keep the body in a positive nitrogen state.

Yes, that's the problem, I need to eat much protein, but I'm afraid if this will worsen my uric acid.
But then, I read some older thread yesterday and got the impression that only red meat can cause uric acid. Is this true? This means only beef and pork meat will cause uric acid problem, while other sources of protein (chicken, fish, protein drinks, etc, etc) will not cause this? Does this mean I can still consume a high protein diet while keeping my uric acid normal by eating other than red meat?
