I've been eating this way for two years and it's made a diff in my % body fat and 5k time.
Down to 7% body fat and a 17:55 5k.

I was actually going to post and ask about this program. The problem is that my blood type is A-, which means that I get to eat soy and tofu and crap like that. Now, I eat that stuff anyways... but I also enjoy a bit fat steak now and then, etc. It seems like the stuff that I dont want to eat is the stuff that it recommends, like beans and friggin grains. To add insult to injury, the book says that As are from a bloodline of farmers, etc... I'm norwegian and German, farmers? The Norwegians raped and pillaged for fun and the Germans... well, hehe... no need to go there
Seriously though, alot of this makes sense and it does ring true... but I get the feeling that if I use this diet I'm going to turn into some skinny puny little trick.
Farmers? That bastard...

But I did spend a few weeks perusing the studies and reading and researching the criticisms of the diet (which is NOT intended for weight loss, but rather, optimal health) enough to believe that something he said is true:
"Some people would rather wallow in familiar ignorance than consider a new idea."
Look at all the flak the "Atkins Diet" has gotten and how it's stymied the medical community.
The reason it works better is because it eliminates two poisons that most are better off avoiding, (which all food seems to be wrapped in), namely "wheat" and "corn", the latter which has been shown to cause an insulin response of a negative kind.

Sure, but everyone says that when they want you to buy their product...
Theres certainly alot that makes sense about the diet, but I'm a weight lifter, not a jogger. I run for fun, but thats just for cardio sake, I eat and lift because I want to get big. So... guess we'll see how it works out.

just more fish and chicken...
If you're "A" then your level of alpha-reductase is lower which means it'll spike your cholesterol levels if you eat beef because it's less digestible for you.

Yeh, but max portions for those a week are like 4x of each. Though I think with an easy digesting meat like fish I might be able to slip in a few more than recommended
I'll try and work it from what they recommend and will make changes from there... if it works, cool.. if not, who cares

My mother has been trying to get me on this diet for weeks now. My concerns are similar to Eggs. This diet may be better for my overall health, but the truth is that I'm trying to overcome my genetic predispositions (which are to be a weak, scrawny bastard). I'd rather reach my full muscular potential and be in good health, than reach my full health potential and be 135 lbs.

I think it would be wise not to follow any of these "pseudo" diets to the tee.....they are developed and advertised as a means to make money!
IMO...most of these diets make some valid points...the key is to distinguish the good from the bad and implement the good things into your normal eating routine.

It says that the A blood group is from Norwegian farmers etc... what is blood group O ? - thanks

Blood group O is supposed to be the most primitive/earliest blood type that developed... back from the days of hunter/gatherers. Basically they're good with meats, veggies and fruits if I recall.
