I am making a diet for my friend. he is 22 years old 5.10inch tall and 175 lbs at 12 percent bf. i wanted to use a diet w8lftr posted before. the high fat diet, low carb diet.
I used the formula for manteince calories
and got 1920 calories for his weight.
which sounds better
6 meals a day with 27 grams of carbs right after the gym and a total of 105g fat strictly from olive oil and 209 gram of protein from isopure and tuna with a carb-up day
or
6 meals a day with 20 grams of carb before workout and 27 after work out and a total of and 115g fat strictly from olive oil, 166 grams of pro strictly from isopure and tuna. with no carb up
both diets include lots of fiber and lots of water.
supplements include cran extract and ala for good urinary tract.
also can u eat tuna with fiber and olive oil before bed and not have it turn to glycogen. I am thinking about doing this to fight catabolism.
thansk in advance for the replies.

I think for newbies to cutting its best to start out with having daily carbs and not going so low carb. Its easier for them to handle and they don't get the cravings for carbs as bad that way. Over time and as they advance and learn then I think depletion/carb up is a nice change but not to start. JMHO!

he has been working out and dieting for around 5 years. his uppe body is pretty big but the thing is he had leg surgery and his legs lost all size and he went from 175 around 8%bf to the same weight at 12%bf. he cant do cardio for a while. and during the summer he really does nothing but sit around at work except to go to the gym once a day. I need carbs because i run out doors at a track so damn much. but he is just tryng to mantain the muscle he has while burning fat.

I still would try a diet with slow burning carbs just to get into the swing of things and starting the decrease of carbs in his diet. Then in 4-6 weeks switch him to deplete/carb up plan. Don't just throw someone full force into a plan like that. I think cutting is mentally stressful as well so the daily carbs will help to start and keep some sanity. JMO

cool . I will make up a diet emphazizing slow burning carbs. thanks jodi
I guess the reason I wanted to try that diet on him was because i really wanted to experiment on some one tahn my self.
i guess thats why some personal trainers and dietians are so good. over the years they perfected their craft on so many other people.

No problem!
Deplete/Carb Up is what I'm currently doing. I've done it many times but IMO it can become crazy because your carb cravings do increase while your depleting.
