I think my body is a little misproportioned. Is there any way to gain weight in a specific area?

Posted by: P-funk

No such thing as spot reduction or spot gain? Sorry. What is the problem, maybe I can offer you some exercises that would help to balance you out or bring up troubled areas.

peace,
Patrick

P-Funk, the dude's Gluteus is too minimus.

Tell ya what worked for me......Get an office job!

Not bragging at all, but my upper body is WAY bigger than my legs and bottom half. I've tried tripling the number of squats I do on a weekly basis, but I've heard squats can mes up your back, so that has a little worried.

Thanks p-funk and all others.

Squats are gr8 but watch your form....I would suggest a wider than normal stance on your quats too and make sure you're going all the way down...none of these 1/4 squats. Start doing deep lunges (larger than normal strides)....doing this hits more of the hams and glutes. What else....use the abductor machine if you have one...that helps a bit too. Anothier trick....squats (feet close together...on the smith machine with your feet 18 to 24 inches ahead of the bar.

Squats, squats, and more squats

Squats are an absolute must. But like fitfreak said make sure your form is correct. Also, yes full range of motion squats are important but if you can't get down there without clean form then work with in your given flexibility level and try to stretch your soleus and hamstring muscles so that you will be able to do complete squats. Also, don;t up the amount of lower body training you do in a week, this will lead to overtraining and possibly atrophy.

peace.
