I have been working out on and off for about 3 years. I am now 20 have decided that I want to become serious about working out right and eating right. I have started the body for life routine and the workouts are really tiring and I feel like I'm actually accomplishing something in the gym instead of going through the motions like I used to.

Eating right is quite another story. I am used to eating 2 meals a day, crappy meals at that, the saturated fat kind. I'm 5'10" and weigh 175 lbs, about 20% body fat. I'm in decent shape, but I know I can do better.

The problem is, I KNOW that I don't have the motivation to prepare 6 healthy meals a day, especially since I'm coming from 2 unhealthy meals a day. I've been browsing these forums about MRPs and have read about myoplex in the body for life program. There are so many MRPs that i've been reading about though that I don't know which would be best, safest, and cheapest to use.

I will probably gain up the motivation to prepare 3 healthy meals a day and take an MRP for the other 3 meals. I was wondering if any one here could recommend an MRP or anything of the like that is the most beneficial and the cheapest.

I was also wondering about vitamin pills. Would it be better to take these and then take a protein shake with some carbs. Or should I take vitamin pills wheather I use an MRP or not. Any recommendations on this? What about fatty acids?

The wealth of information I've been looking at is pretty confusing, so I could use any pointers or tips to get me headed in the right direction.

Thanks

Its good that you want to better yourself. I did the Body for Life program too...It was good.

kal525, you have to teach yourself discipline.

What I did is prepare my meals beforehand. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

I would cook like a weeks worth of chicken breast/turkey breast and then freeze them. Then in the mornings, get 3 containers and portion out my meals with either brown rice or cruciferous vegetables like broccolli or cauliflower. I would season them up with either a few tablesoppons of Bar-b-q sauce or a different type of marinade. And I would also pack along with my meals 3 MRPs.

Of course, this is just an example of what I did. You can add variety to your diet by trying out different recipes.

If you are trying to make your own MRP (because we all know that money desont grow on trees), what I would suggest you do is blend together some Optimum whey protein powder and some oatmeal along with some flax oil in the blender. I found this to be very cost effective and saved me money. I sprinkled some cinnamon and it tasted very good. It had a complex carb source, excellent protein and essential fat in it. Your own home made version of an MRP : )

What I would suggest you do is bargain shop online to one of those online nutrition stores. I use Muscleshoppe.com Great prices. Or maybe buy protein in bulk. I know Optimum nutrtion has 10 pounds of whey protein for under $40 online.

Ill be here to help you if you ever need me.
