ever since i started working out a while ago, i've started to notice the veins in my hands and arms a lot more. they really are quite noticible especially when i'm lifting but at other times too. anything to be worried about? what could be causing this?

nothing to be worried about.
the leaner you get the more vascular you get. Don't ya just love how it looks??

I'm veiny also. I just love it. Some like it some don't, but there are a lot of people that would kill to be like we are and no matter what they do they can't get to that point.

Less fat below the skin (subcutaneous) as well as more requirement for blood flow can create this. Realistically you are probably seeing both. If I do direct forearm training for a few weeks I notice the veins in my forearms come up "wider/thicker."

unless your veins are varicose, there is no danger.
I have become more vascular over the years, my forearms are filled with veins even when I am relaxed, and I now have them running across my inner triceps and biceps, across my upper pecs, all over my quads, of course many of these only come out when I am lean.

Personally I love the cies that cross the biceps and inner tris....like what's already been said...as you get leaner and train more (increase blood flow requirements) you will notice that you see more veins and they'll appear larger.
Most of us are really into this...it's a good thing IMO

i have had some veins removed from my leg about 1 month ago. I have noticed that the veins got really big after i started to work out. But the veins stayed as thick as my finger even when not working out. there was also pain coming from my left calve where the vein was so you might want to have the veins checked out by a doctor. good luck

i noticed veins soon after I began weight training. They have begun to hide themselves as of late (too much fat gained) BUT, I started a cut like 2 weeks ago and already those bad boys are becoming more and more visible. I love it!

Dense vascularity is a very good sign of health in my opinion. It is one of the very first positive things an observant person will notice when beginning a new body transformation program from a previously sedentary and overweight condition. I watched this in myself with amazement when I first started to get my self in shape. It is often times said on a fat loss program that the body changes inside out. This is one such way of seeing those changes even when scale weight is not moving much. Suddenly, within a week or two of rigorous resistance training and cardio and good nutrition you see all this deep blue veinage in places you had not previously noticed it. As you lose body fat it becomes more and more pronounced and they become much larger after doing heavy exercised and deeper blue when you eat following a workout. I have always suspected that this was also an indication that the body is developing much denser capillaries and blood volume efficiencies/increases as well. It would make sense simply because there is more lean tissue to metabolically support and the body needs to get deep into fat stores to mobilize that fuel source
