I’m no super big muscle bound guy (yet) but from the science alone I’m defiantly a believer in consuming multi-species proteins to deliver sustained amino’s to the body’s amino pool over a longer period of time than one would get with just whey. I particularly like to consume the casein form of protein (abundant in low fat cottage cheese) immediately prior to bed so that I get an inexpensive and true time-delay “night time” protein delivery; hopefully at about the same time it’s really needed when the GH cycle kicks in. A little cottage cheese at bedtime sure beats those expensive “PM” proteins anyway. With micellar casein’s much longer term delivery of amino acids and anti-catabolic effect (up to 7 hours verses whey’s 2 hours) it’s bound to become all the rage again. It probably makes sense for people to re-evaluate their protein powders and go multi-species if you have not done so yet. But there is controversy ( http://www.ironmag.com/im_milk_protein.html ). Also a good article on Micellar Casein on page 58 of Muscle Media, June 2003 “Featured Suppliment: Micellar Caesin” but I don’t believe that part is online http://www.musclemedia.com/back_issue.asp .

The only problem is finding slow digesting proteins like casein.
Everything now is whey or a blend of whey and casein.
