ok, i used to love eggs (i still do) but i mean LOVE but ever since i've been eating 2 whole eggs + 8 egg whites for breakfast, i've felt myself slowly getting sick of them more and more each morning... maybe it's just because it's so much food in my face for that time of day (i'm used to just having a bowl of cereal) but the only reason i eat them is for the protein anymore...

how can i make them taste better without adding a bit of ketchup? cause that's what i've been doing and i don't think it's been such a good idea

add another yolk or two

Whenever I am eating 10 or more eggs in one sitting I like to have some salsa on top. If you don;t like som many eggs than eat half of that and eat another protein source. I sometimes eat 6 egg whites and 4-6oz of ground turkey or chicken breast. Or have some cottage cheese or some eggs and a protein shake. If you can;t stomach that many eggs then don't do it.

I like mixing brown rice and/or ground sirloin with mine

Posted by: OceanDude

I oftentime take egg beaters (which is just egg white with a fraction of the yoke for color) and make up an omlet with green pepper, onion, brown rice and lean diced ham. Pretty good stuff.

Powdered milk + fake butter + lowfat/no-fat cheese.

Cayenne pepper baby! Makes those eggs a lot less boring!

Posted by: papaoso2k1

For breakfast I cook my egg whites (1.75 cups) and add them to a bowl of oatmeal and then add some cinnamon and splenda...

Salsa or hot sauces are the answer to your problem.

Posted by: Skib

is salsa ok on a cut?

i want to avoid using up all my protein powder so quickly

it's expensive stuff!

I use Tostitos Hot Salsa, about 3 teaspoons on 3 eggs scrambled.

Aren't raw eggs dangerous for samonella?

Nah, samonella like to live dangerously. The only thing dangerous for samonella is high heat (and radiation)...

I'm a card carrying member of the "Samonella Are Living Things to Organization (SALT TOO)".

OK, I know my english is not that good..
You know what I meant...

Posted by: OceanDude

I know - was joking. Yes it's pretty dicy to do the raw egg thing. Macho aside...

Posted by: Skib

i tried salsa and it's not bad... i'd rather have ketchup but hey, ya gotta do what ya gotta do, right?

i like the extra yolk idea... yolk is tasty

i'm curious to know how much time some of you spend preparing your breakfast in the morning (providing that's when you eat your eggs)

i know i like to wake up half an hour before i have to leave for work... that gives me 15 min to make breakfast, eat, check my e-mail real quickly and 15 min to shower and get ready...

chicken, turkey and beef don't really sound like something one would eat for breakfast :P

i certainly wouldn't have time, nor the desire to bbq or fry up a chicken breast at 8 AM :P

Try Frank's Red Hot Sauce !

It's great on eggs, meat, chicken, tuna, veggies (the list goes on.....)

Actually I just mixed some boiled egg whites with tuna and Red Hot!! (sounds gross but it's was good!!)

dude, you're missing out..ground turkey with eggs rules....

but, you can get some eggbeaters that are flavored..garden vegetable and southwestern flavors...I like the southwest flavor myself..both are good though...just throw in a yolk or two.

Posted by: Skib

nice i'll talk to my mom about picking up some ground turkey

oh, and i HATE hot sauce with a passion... i'm not really a fan of anything spicey for that matter...

I separate my egg whites once a week(i do about 60 eggs) and keep em in a jar inside the fridge...that way all I have to do is nuke em every morning...

The other day I tried something a little different I had 4 eggs 2 whole eggs and 2 egg whites mixed with a far amount of cottage cheese, diced tomatoes and onions. It was very tasty I've been eating that for breakfast for like 3 days now. Plus it's actually very high in protein 42 grams.

use a little amount of you'r protein powder and mix it with the eggs and make it like a pancake

How did you cook this? Like an omlet filled with Cottage cheese or like a scramble?

Sounds good.

I just boiled the eggs then I removed the yolk from 2 of them cut them all up with the spoon and mixed it all together. I did it the lazy way lol but I’ll probably try it with a omelet sometime also. If you try it let me know what you think Jodi.

Posted by: calalily1972

An omlet filled with cottage cheese, onions, peppers & mushrooms would be good wouln't it

I can't have that right now but try it and let me know. I bet the cottage cheese would melt inside like regular cheese.

I eat eggs almost every morning. Either scrambled, poached, or fried (not sure fried is the right word.....I put them in the skillet and when the white turns white I add some water and cover the pan for a minute or so, then flip them)

Hotsauce AND pepper is a requirement, but I put both on almost anything I eat. Skib, I doubt you would like my chili if you don't like thing's spicy. (I drive my wife nuts when I cook, because it's almost always on the spicier side ) My cooking has been known to set arses afire.

Things I throw into things I make:

Green Chile
Chipolte
Pepper sauce (Personally, I like Franks over Tabasco - better flavor)

I used to use salsa alot when I had eggs, black pepper, and sometimes I just alternate how I cook them. I admit though I got tired of eggs also, right now the only eggs I have are raw in my shake, and that is 4-6 a day, not alot.

Veggies would be another big one.

Posted by: Fit Freak

I almost ALWAYS just add salsa...hot of course..on top of my eggs...easy and good for the diet too

Omlets are also gr8 but I usually can't be bothered to take the time to make one...unless of course it's breakfast for 2 ...the of course it's omlets all around...lol

I was thinking of trying this but it would probably be pretty gross with chocolate protein powder.

Actually its quite good with the choc. If I don't have choc. sometimes I add cocoa powder

Posted by: dvp

Why exactly are the yolks removed? are you all sure that most of the protein is actually from the whites?

haha, i have no clue, so thats why im asking!

Posted by: calalily1972

Actually is 50/50 Each egg white contains 3G Protein and each egg yolk contains 3G Protein.

Posted by: maniclion

I like Lea & Perrins Worchestershire, steaksauce or Shoyu (soy sauce), but just a teaspoon or so because L&P has 1G of sugar per tsp and their steaksauce has 3G per Tbsp. Tonight I had plain scrambled eggs on my turkey/spinach salad.

Posted by: heavyweight1987

is ketchup on eggs really good ,i love ketchup but on eggs???

Posted by: Fit Freak

Ketchup is full of sugar...personally I wouldn't use it....even when bulking.

Posted by: heavyweight1987

is ketchup a good thing to eat every1 talks like it isnt but i like it so much!!!!!

Posted by: tigerboo

if yall like spicy toppings on eggs, a really good tasting one is chipotle peppers in adobo sauce. They sell it at most supermarkets and its sold in a can.

Posted by: heavyweight1987

lol can u get them at wal mart?????

Posted by: freeman1504

ketchup on eggs, is yummy, but lots of sugar and other useless crap in ketchup..I'd rather use salsa.

Posted by: heavyweight1987

that sux for me im obsessed with ketchup*lol*

Posted by: freeman1504

www.waldenfarms.com

go there, I think I got the url correct. They make no carb/no sugar products, including ketchup.
