Im trying to do without supplements I may not need and try to save some money. I take amino acid supplements. Are these good to take pre-workout , post-work out, non workout days or do away with them altogether

Glutamine is probably an important one to keep taking. When is best before workout , after before bedtime etc.

and last Tribulus Terrestris I take a vitamin shoppe brand comparable to Tribex 500. Am I wasting money with this any good results is this better with something else etc

thnx in advance

tribulus is a tricky product While it does enhance libido, there have yet to be studies that show it increases testosterone levels.

Here is a post I made recently on Tribulus supposedly being "bunk"

Conclusion

Quote:
Supplementation with tribulus does not enhance body composition or exercise performance in resistance-trained males.

Amino Acids are a waste of money and not very cost effective either, use a whey protein powder instead.

Glutamine, 20-30 grams per day spread out over 3-4 servings, most important one is post work-out.

Tribulus Terrestris, the most you will see from this product is an increase in your libido.

You might want to consider adding creatine to your list.
