i was just wondering. because i wanted to get in shape but i am not even thinking to look even close to a body builder.

Posted by: Burner02

what would you like to accomplish?
By what do you mean get into shape?
By the way, welcome!

I'm not a BB either, but I too want to get into shape and there are some very knowledgable, helpful people here. So ask away, I'm sure someone will respond and give you some tips based on your goals.

No.

However, but for you, if take only 50% of the focus and discipline of the BBs here and apply it, you will look well above the average person.

I am a bodybuilder but I am also a personal trainer and have a nutrition coususinlg business so everyone that I help is just trying to get in shape and not be "bodybuilders". No one here is going to try and transform you into anything you don't want to be. When you ask questions just make sure you have clearly stated goals so that people can give you more specific answers and guide you in the right direcition.

Welcome to IM

What exactly is bodybuilding? From dictionary.com - The process of developing the musculature of the body through specific types of diet and physical exercise, such as weightlifting, especially for competitive exhibition.

So basically anyone looking to get into shape, even if they don't resemble the traditional body builder, that has began changing their diet and has taken up lifting or other physical exercises could be considered a body builder. To me, if someone is making a change in their lifestyle to build up their body to however they want it regargless if their competing or not is a body builder.

I would say from cruising this board that there are more non-bodybuilders (I mean competitors) on this board than competitive bodybuilders.

Bodybuilding does not mean we all want to look like pro bodybuilders, bodybuilding is still bodybuilding, powerlifting is still powerlifing even if you aren't breaking records.

Some people here mountain bike and are not into moving huge weights or being heavy, etc

IronMagazine.com has always had the title: Bodybuilding & Fitness Magazine, which includes all levels of bodybuilding and fitness.

Look at the top of your screen at the IM forums main page: "Bodybuilding, Health, and Fitness Community."

I am not a bodybuilder, nor do I play one on TV.

Bodybuilding is a way of life, and doesn't include just lifting weights...it includes a mental component as well IMO. Since being here I have learned a lot from the people here, and I thought I was pretty well versed before
