It's been about 2 weeks since I cut my cardio in more than 1/2 now 2 day HIIT 20 min and 1 day traditional cardio 30 min. I'm doing 5 day split on workouts. I have also increased my calories from around 1300 to 1700 and am working on getting to 1900. My concern is weight gain I have increased 5 lbs in the last 2 weeks. Is this normal with all the changes I've made? confused: If so when might I see changes in the other direction.

Remember you lost a bit of muscle and your probably putting it back on. Forget about the scale. Put it in your closet and only take it out once a week. Go by the mirror, how you look, how your clothes feel. You've been in starvation mode for so longs it is normal to put on a few pounds when you go from 800 cals a day you were eating to slowly increasing to where you should be. Just relax and don't stress about it. You can't get fat overnight and certainly not at 1700 cals.

Oh my god I'm a cardio junkie. Maybe I need to join a 12-step program "CA" Cardio Anonymous

I'm just the opposite, you have to drag me kicking and screaming to get me to do cardio

I think I like cardio so much because I can really push my limits. I started out running a 15 min mile, now I'm at a 10 min mile. If I want I can run at 7.0 mph for 30 seconds if thats all I can do and then slow it down then speed up again when I'm ready. With weights if I can only do a 20lb curl thats all I can do. I can't just decide to up it because I want to I have to be ready to. I guess thats the challenge of lifting, getting yourself to the next level.

You can continue to do cardio just make sure you are eating enough calories.
