why is soreness not a factor in deciding if your workout was good enough? i mean when i train i train to "rip" my muscles up and let them rebuild. therefore they are sore the next day. it is a principle of training to failure and creating little tears in fibers and letting them grow and get stronger for the next time. do you guys agree with me or do you think that soreness is not a deciding factor at all in workin out?

because you can overtrain and be sore as hell, but u did more damage to your body than good and will therefore never see results

Soreness is not always a sign of progress. The more familiar get with your body(with time), the easier it is to recognize what pains and soreness mean what. I like a degree of soreness to, but the cause of it is just as important.
