Optimum 100% whey: Never will I taste chocolate again.

Ok, Im a big fan optimum 100%, and every time I went I would only purchase chocolate, because I was told that it was the best tasting one. I took their word for it, and kept choking down the chocolate, wich is funny because the taste name should be changed to butt juice. Anyways, after a year of trying to stifle the gags, and drinking my shake mixed with cold milk so fast that I got brain freezes . I ignored these vanilla nay sayers, and bought it. MY GOD, COMPARED TO THAT OTHER CRAP THIS TASTES LIKE SWEET NECTAR. Anyways, thought I would rant and let everyone know how mutch I <3 Vanilla. And I vow to never touch the nastiness that is chocolate again.

I tend to alternate

I must say the vanilla and cappuchino sups I take taste a lot nicer than the chocolate ones, strawberry is nice too

I had a tub of a creatine/glutamine/dextrose/whey 'all-in-one' supplement (cyclone from maximuscle) and for some reason it wasn't mixing as well as it normally dose (it had bits in it, it was like someone has poured sand in my tub), it was chocolate flavour and it made me feel sick just thinking about having it

Its really put me off choc flavour sups now

Optimum tastes like crap in any flavor. You haven't tasted nasty though until you order from proteinfactory.com and forget to have sweetener added...HOLY CRAP!!!!!

Labrada makes a tasty chocolate protein. Vanilla in any brand just reminds me too much of Jiz. lol

I highly disagree which only goes to show nobody agrees on taste, Optimum chocolate whey tastes like Ovaltine to me, I like it warm, cold, in water or in milk.

Right now I have unflavored milk protein, and I have some vanilla pro-rated whey. I did NOT like the pro-rated chocolate, way way too rich. Honestly people, chug the damn shake and shut up please

I wonder what you would think of my old 30 pounds of milk/egg mix, no flavoring, that was a bit harder to chug but hey, chug it and shush.

Chocolate and vanilla are both good. I like to switch between them; one flavor gets old after some time.

Oh I did chug in mudge, never once complained, just the occasional gag . But I chug mutch happier now

I hate vanilla. Tastes like butt juice. Double rich chocolate is the only one that I found that I like.

I agree with Mudge. It does prove how peoples taste vary greatly. To me Optimum's whey in chocolate flavor tastes very good mixed with milk. Water on the other hand tastes, well... watery, but certainly not awful.

Remember the first whey products that used ion exhange? They tasted like used dish soap!

I drink em all but only because they are good for me.They have a bitter aftertaste.I personally love EAS Myo Plex but higher carbs and aspartame so stopped taking it.I wish they could make a real delicious one with no carbs and sugars.Might be mission impossible though.
Hey sometimes I mix all flavors when I get bored.

Labrada shakes are pretty damn good. Chocolate and chocolate peanut butter. They have a low carb shake also but I haven't tried that one.

The worst tasting protein I've ever had in my life was unflavored Soy. Right now I have unflavored milk protein and it is easily drinkable, a bit easier than unflavored milk and egg mix for whatever reasons.

Believe me, I dont buy that stuff anymore. I bought it around the heyday of soy, it was $10 a container which was cheap. I tried making pancakes out of it because it was so horrible That failed miserably BTW.

That would have been about 8 years ago I think.

I've tried Optimun Whey, Nitrotech, Glycerlean, Syntrax Nectars, etc. As for chocolate, the best tasting protein powder I've had so far is Muscle Provider by Beverly International.

I agree that the goal is just getting the crap down, but why would someone gag something down, when you can find something more appealing that is equel in quality? Last think I want is to NOT look forward to my protein.

You are right Mudge, the BI is $$$, but those guys are pioneers. I remember when it was them and Weiders. One was $$$, the other was crap. lol

I get 6 pounds for $20 at Costco, the chocolate is way way too rich for me, the vanilla is ok.
