so ur doing back, chest and arms all in the same day? not a good thing try to split it up more..like chest, bis, calves back, tris, forarms hams, quads, shoulders Ur split does not have to look like this but don't do upper body all in one day u need more rest ..of course i don't know what ur goals are either

My goal is to get stronger. I don't really care about having big muscles. If I shouldn't do my upper body in one day how should I split it up?
Thanks

do chest and back on different days like chest, bis back, tris

or chest tris back bis experiment with it

depending on whether you are just starting out or not doing an upperbody one day lower body another day split can work for you. But I would go with a three day split like:

mon-upper
wed-lower
fri-upper
sat/sun-rest

Sounds good P-Funk but can I add the abs on sundays?
Thanks

if you really want to go to the gym to do just abs then do it..........lol

But I would just do abs with upper body so that I don't have to make another trip to the gym.

Well, I wasn't really going to make another trip to the gym, I was going to do them at my home gym.
Sortov off topic, but what muscle in the upper body contribute to power and upper body strength most?
Thanks, you get two licks

focus on compound movements like bench press, millitary press, pulll ups and various rows.

Lift heavy man. You say you don't care about big muscles, but if you get stronger, your muscles will naturally get bigger...besides, it's fun to have big muscles!

not necessarily, the intramuscular conection is more advanced than that.

Thanks P-Funk and Splooge. Y'now, it wouldn't be bad to be strong AND have big muscles =)
