ive always held the rule that you cant eat 1-2 hrs before bed.... is this neccesary or will your body not store fat when you are eating primarily protein and fat?

eat bro.

who told you that?

if you don't eat before bed there is a increased chance that your body will use muscle for energy

its best to have something light before bed to help prevent muscle loss and to stop your metabolism slowing down

peace

i have a protein shake...but if u have real food before bed make it light..cause digesting heavy amounts of real food will keep u up for hours

hmm up for hours? ive never had a problem with this. and the shake is fast acting, you want to eat cottage cheese or eggs before bed. im still not convinced.

there is nothing wrong with the shake before bed, as long as you have some fat with it (natty PB or flax) to slow down digestion....Some people do get stomach aches if they eat before bed and end up being awake for hours.

if you are trying to loose weight go with just egg whites and some chicken and skip the fat. trying to gain weight add in some EXTRA EFAS ad you will be fine. Finding that peoples metabolsim speeds up early in the day and should tamper caloires as day goes on and after 5-6 pm just go higher protein with low to moderate fat and veggies and if you can follow the principle trying to center your carbs mainly around your workout window and reduce carbs in other meal, I have always beleived in carb tampering when possible to achieving a lean and muscular phyique

i like to have a cup if not a cup and a half of low fat cottage cheese with a tablespoon of sugar free smuckers , usually after that ill eat a half a tablespoon nat pb to slow digestion down,, but i do prefer casein at night
try not to eat many carbs after 7-8 though

belive it or not alot of people have a hard time digesting cottage cheese. if so go some thing like a micelluar cassanete before bed with egg whites. slowest absorping protein decveloped so far. before i add carb i will always increase my fiber before bed even before bed time, if you do train late at night and eat a heavy carb meal and then anothr meal before bed addding fat could have the possiblilty of being taken in and more easily store then just proten carbs or protein/veggies

egg whites are definetly a great source but im usually so damn tired that i dont feel like making them,,, i usually just go through the fridge usually end up with :
cottage cheese/pb
protein shake / PB
chicken breast( already cooked) / celery / pb
can of tuna/celery/mayo
do not overboard the PB by the way , i just add according to how many grams of fat are in my other sources of food

wasnt saying you were wrong bro, just that i never had cramps. i stand corrected about the whey...although you forgot to mention that it must be slowed with EFAs
