Ripped off ordering online

Has anyone ever had a bad experience ordering online. Back in July I placed two orders for supplements from a online company here in Canada. Two weeks ago I received my credit card bill for the orders but still had not received any product. I have sent several emails and phone calls only to get an answering machine and no response to my messages. I have a bad feeling I may have been ripped off. Does anyone know if I can somehow fight this or am I screwed.

Sure you can fight it, don't pay your credit card bill! You should be able to dispute any charge through your credit card company. Try to find out if the company didn't fill your order or if the shipping company lost it. A reputable company would give you a link to the shipping company to track your order. Then again, you said you e-mailed them with no response, so don't do business with those fools again.

He's right, just call the issuing bank of the credit card and tell them you want to disoute the charges because they never sent you the product. It really is that simple.

Might not be that easy guys, Canada's a little funny that way.
Like here if someone bounces a check at my store, I have to go after them, spend my time doing it, if I have to go through the court I will win but that doesn't mean I'm gonna see any money.

In the US, its against the law to pass bad checks, your in deep shit if you do.

I know I pay to have protection on my Visa for stuff like that so you may be S.O.L. there.

I don't know about Canada but I know for a fact you can do it here in the U.S., happened to me. Make sure you have the order no and contact your credit card company. I settled my dispute with one phone call.
My bet is they can help you, the credit card company wants to make you happy so you'll Charge it on there card.

The banks don't want you to know this (Canadian), but you can dispute any charge to your credit card, and they have to take your word for it. Especially with internet purchases. (No signature)You can just say that you never made the purchase in the first place. They will reverse the charge against the merchant. Of course this involves lying. If you tell them you simply never received the product, they will not help you, you must say that your card was defrauded. Depends on your morals. I myself have never tried this, but i have a contact in the Visa dept here in Toronto that confirmed this for me. I want to add that I don't condone (sp?) this behaviour, just passing along info.

I have put in a dispute but I told them I never received the product, so I will just have to see what happens.

No news from the credit company as of yet. I have my fingers crossed but I kind of have my doubts, I`ll keep you posted.

My credit card company took care of it right away.

Good luck! Hope it works out for you.

Actually my credit card company phoned me today wanting to know in detail everything I ordered. The online company from which I placed my order has 48 hours to prove that I received any product or I will be refunded. In the past I had to sign for the package when it came in and since I nor my wife signed for this missing order I should get refunded.

That's great!
