I am needing some expert advice. I am getting back on creatine and I was wondering if I should take it before or after my workout. I had took it before but I have heard others say take it after. I take a whey protein shake after my workout but will the creatine break down the protein? I have decided to try dextrose with creatine for faster absorbing. Also I have heard people take canola oil. Do they add this to their post workout protein shake? Thanks for your help!!

There was a thread on this exact topic recently, and the outcome was take your creatine imediately after your work-out, and your shake 30 minutes later.
Although you could take them together if you want, it does not really matter. IMO

After creatine is properly loaded into your system it should be taken after your workout as mighty Prince said.It can be taken with whey protein and carbs.This will not "breakdown" the protein.As for canola oil..flax oil is better.Generally people will add it to their shakes.However,don't add it to the post workout shake because that will slow absorbtion,which you do not want at this time.
