Where does everyone buy their supplements?

(CLICK HERE here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Online, retail store, both?

Just because the majority believes it, does not make it true!

Posted by: Prince

So, either no one here buys supplements, or no one wants to reveal their sources!

I don't buy mine online, I don't know what will be stopped at the border?

I'm in the same boat, there's a drug store in town that stocks a good variety and gives me a good deal.

I usually just buy some stuff from a local store I used to work at, but I have ordered from www.dpsnutrition.com

They have the best prices I've seen anywhere on the net and they do deliver very fast.

www.netrition.com is where I buy sometimes online. They have an excellent selection, although TSB's link above beats them on a product I like, AST's Ny-Tro Pro 40. I don't know about their selection, though. Vitamins World has okay prices but their selection stinks.

Vitamin World, in the mall.

We've been ordering from dpsnutrition.com (sorry, Prince - your supp warehouse doesn't carry our protein). Their prices are the lowest I've seen anywhere and their shipping is AMAZINGLY fast.

Just did some comparison shopping between the store in state and www.dpsnutrition.com www.jesupgym.com blows them out of the water.

Optimum Pro complex. 2.lb $18.90
4.4 lb $34.20
Thermo Cuts 200 caps $21.60

100% Whey Protein 5lbs $22.99
10lbs $39.42

and so on, check em out. This is a family owned store, not a chain.

how is protein factory? are they pretty good? i was thinking about ordering some stuff from them.

Posted by: Charger

I have ordered form them, good product and good service, never had problem. Just remember to check the box of which flavor you want or you will get it plain and have a container and scoop because it comes in bulk.

Up to this point I've purchase all my "Simply Protein" and Prolab creatine fm www.vitaglo.com . It's $26 for the 5lb tub of protein and the Prolab creatine 600gms around $20. Shipping is free if you spend more than $20 or $25 I think.

I live in the sticks so there's not much retail opportunity here.

Why is that? If you didn't have a good store to buy from close by then would you?

Some people don't have good stores around them to buy from. Check out my site www.mrprotein.com Shipping is included and I send quick except we may have some problems for the next week or so after today.

Posted by: Maki Riddington

I just don't think with the exchange rate or shipping costs it's worth my while.

For what? So I can save 3 dollars. Big deal.

I'll continue you getting my supps at the store. Thank you very much.

If that is all you could save I would do the same. For me I am saving alot more. Example: at my local GNC a fat burner goes for 38 dollars which would sell for 23 on the net. A protein powder sells for $30 for 2 pounds. I can get 5lbs for $23 at one site.

I've used supplement warehouse and have ordered directly from Biotest.
I also have found a store nearby that carries a good variety of brands. However, they are not always fully stocked.

Online is great if you can plan in the shipping time. Most of the time my online experience has been satisfactory.

GNC is too over priced for me.

I am not pimping any particular place, I have just had some good luck at bodybuilding.com. Their deliveries have always been reliable and prices comparable to anything I have found.

Local store

Posted by: palomayombe

Both online and at the store.

The guy who posted a message here (Mark) saying to buy supplements from his website -- www.mrprotein.com -- ripped me off for $35.00. I returned an unopened jar of protein to him last month, with his authorization to do so, (and got UPS confirmation that he received it) and he won't refund my money. I sent him a dozen polite emails asking for the refund, but he ignored each and every one of them. I called and left a message on his machine, but he ignored that too. I enlisted the help of an online company that deals with matters like this (WebAssured.com). They contacted him 4 times by email and once personally, but he has thumbed his nose at them too. $35.00 may not be a huge sum, but if he steals that much from a lot of people, it certainly will add up. Stay away from this guy.

GNC, but the prices are doubled in my country!!

VERY EXPENSIVE!!

Posted by: Triple Threat

I usually buy online, but I will sometimes stop in at a GNC or Wal-Mart to pick up a quick snack (aka Protein bar).

vitaminshoppe great prices as much as i would pay at netrition.com

Posted by: Pierzin

check this y'all

I recently got turned on to Muscle Milk, from cytosport, and though its more than optimum, I love it! I've looked around online, but can't find any for less than $23 per 2.2 lb size.

with milk, each serving is 638 calories, 32 grams. can you beat it?

Posted by: Larva

i saw that (muscle milk) at vitamin shoppe yesterday on sale but i forget how much.

Posted by: Dale Mabry

dps nutrition. I hadn't taken any supps in a while so I went to this local store forgetting how much of a rip it was. Never again.

Posted by: JerseyDevil

I buy almost exclusively online. Vitadigest has some of the best prices around. Plus they have free shipping on orders over $100. Ergopharm 1-AD goes for $34.75 ($34.50 if you buy 2), the cheapest I've seen.

Posted by: Grant_73

I buy mine at GNC. At all military bases you can use the gold card indefintely every day of the week.

TRY OUT WWW.SAVEONSUPPLEMENTS.COM

Posted by: kbm8795

wow...ya know, I'm still so new at this stuff that I don't know a whole lot about what supplements work best for what...so I'm kinda limited to buying glutamine, protein bars and shakes, and whey protein....so ya know I have a whole lot to learn around here.

We have a Vitamin World factory here with an outlet store - so I can nab some good prices on sales with Protoplex Lite (20 pack for $15.99, I think)...and they run three day 30% off sales at the beginning of each month on every item in the place. I think their selection could be a lot better, especially for you guys who know this stuff well, but it's been good on my wallet, at least to start out. I've also picked up EAS AdvantEdge ready-to-drink shakes at the local supermarket (four pack on sale last week for $2.59).
I would never be adverse to purchasing online, once I really became familiar with products and pricing.
