We all know that a healthy colon is one of the most imporant things for good health. But to have a healthy colon don't we need fruits, yogurt (for the healthy bacteria), and a high fiber diet?
I want to do the low carb thing, but I'm afraid it might cause some "other problems" which I deffinately don't want.

I've cut out sugar and the bad carbs from my diet and feel a lot better, but I'm still scared to cut out fruits and yogurt. Wanted to know how you guys are doing in the "colon healthy" department.

Thanks

Firtst of all a low carb diet is not a NO CARB DIET and more importantly it is defenitly not a NO FIBER DIET!!!

a) eat lots of fiber. green veggies, broccoli, spinach etc....
b) fruits are okay if you are eating fruits with lots of fiber. things like apples, grapefruits, strawberries
c) yogurt has lactose wich is sugar.

Fiber is completely fine on a low carb diet. I regularly threw in ground flax seed, wheat bran, psyllium husks, wheat germ, xanthan gum, guar gum into everything I ate, not to mention the TRUCKLOADS of cauliflower, spinach, peppers and broccoli I ate on a nightly basis while cutting and remained below 30g of net carbs every day. Peaches also contain less than 10g of fructose per medium, delicious peach.

Peace.
