I need opions on this, I'm having ego melt down can't gain crap on my arms. I beleive that my work style might be the problem. I drive big rig and when I get to my deliveries I'm unloading furniture all day and then i'm physicaly toast and that might be the day i should be resting my arms. So therfore should I skip the hypertrophy and just stick to lifting heavey low reps?

That depends on what you call low reps, 6-8 is pretty popular for hypertrophy.

well I thought 10-12 reps would be to many to low weight but the poular beleif is this is when your mass building so i thought but unloading trailers all day not every day but is putting me under the same cicumstances.

meaning due to my job and all the lifting of heavey furniture at least 3 days out of the week should i skip the hypertrophy because my arms never really get a rest.. and just do less reps with more weight?????

Once a week, for me triceps is currently around 8 sets and biceps 4.

So your saying become a powerlifter instead of a bodybuilder? I dont understand... You can train however you want based on what your goals are, if your training arms more than once a week your doing too much anyway, job regardless. If you are working out hard in the gym then train the body once over a 5-7 day period, not twice a week.

what i just read in flex mag. and other bodybuilding mags is this. hypertrophy is building mass new muscle. strenghth training augments this.and power lifting augments and gives quick response to heavey weight on comand. So i thought

I beleive your right again i'm over doin it not enough recuperation, hard to find swing.especially with this type of work.thanks mudge again.

oh by the way the reason i was talkin about all three is because alot of bodybuilders are doin all three 1wk. hypertrophy2wk. strength and finally power and then repeatin this to break into new muscle.it's just another way but powerlifters generally only powerlift of course.thanks again.

Hmm, I like to lift heavy but I will hardly ever dip under 5 reps.
