The density of muscle is higher than the density of fat ?

I think it is, but I am not 100% sure.

Yes, muscle is more dense than fat. Comparing 2 people at the same body weight and 1 of them lifts and 1 doesn't, the person that lifts will be smaller in size than the person that does not.

To add to that, muscle requires more calorie expendeture on the body, thus making it easier to lose bodyfat while maintaining a moderate diet

Yep, fat requires almost no sustinence at all, blood flow to fatty areas is usually poor.
