who cares about the attitude, the man is one of the best hitters in baseball, the Sox are morons for letting him go. If I could hit the ball like he does I would be a cocky SOB also, manny is dope.

I'm a sox fan, but why the hell would you want to get rid of Manny? Are you nuts? (by the way, Manny asked to be put on waivers, the sox didnt just do it themselves....)

So what he's got good offensive numbers you ask? Ya, that's only half of baseball, actually more like 75% of an individuals game (how many plays does each outfielder actually average, at most 5 per game?). The guy's like one of the top 3 hitters in baseball consistently year after year. .300 plus average, 30 plus dingers and 100 plus rbi's year after year.

He is not a great defensive player like a Torrie Hunter, but he doesnt suck on defense. No one in MLB sucks at defense. If he was that bad like you say, he'd be the dh 100% of the time. And again, defense is only like 25% of a players game (excluding pitchers of course). the other 7 positions (i'll give you catchers too) have a much better chance impacting the game on offense than defense.....

Who cares if he has leadership skills. Baseball is the least "team" sport their is. Everyone has their own individual roles. Its not like football where the qb has to step up as the leader or bball, where one player can make such a huge difference. In baseball, each individual player has the least significance on how well his team does (excluding the pitchers). In other words, Manny could not get a hit for 10 games, yet the rest of the sox hit the shit outta the ball, so they still win....

Yes, he doesnt talk to hte media, but many guys don't. The media is a bunch of assholes that blow things so far outta proportion and draw the most wacked out conclusions.

and yes, he has no connection with fans, but you gotta understand, its not his responsibility to. Pro athletes have ZERO responsibility to have good connections with teh fans. Its not their faults they are nasty at sports, get paid millions and kids look up to them. He didnt ask people to have him be thier role models. If your kids want real role models, have them look up to their parents and people that make a difference in their lives, not some nasty pro athlete that won't talk to fans.

Its easy to say that they "should do this" and "should do that", but you havent walked in his shoes. If you were a multi million dollar athlete i could almost guarentee you wouldnt give 2 shits about the fans. Most guys that do, (although there are some that are genuinely nice and humble), do so to make themselves look like a nice guy.

He has his opinion, I have mine. The fact is, Manny's salary is CRIPPLING the Red Sox. We will NOT be able to re-sign Varitek, Nomar, Pedro, Lowe, Mike Timlin, AND Bill Mueller, nor will we be able to sign any big time free agents as long as that rediculous contract is weighing down our payroll.

Manny's pissy, "I don't give a shit about anything" attitude is NOT what teamwork is all about. Christ, the fucking guy said he wants to play for the Yankees. Obviously he does not want to be in Boston. The guy refused, refused to pinch hit in the four game series vs New York. $160 million and he refuses to pinch hit!? Get rid of his sorry ass. Read up on what the Sox players think too. None of them respect Manny.

Manny will NOT be in a Sox uniform next season. Get used to it now.
