Tae-Bo or not Tae Bo....

....that is the question.

I'm thinking of incorporating Tae-Bo into my workouts on my off days (the days when I'm not pumping iron )It appears to be a balanced approach to cardio vascular activity. Has anyone done this in conjunction with weight training? Does it hinder the process of muscle gains? Does it help? Does it target the hard to reach areas that weight training can’t reach? Let me know. I’m trying to get a six-pack man!

Holla!

what is this , Hamlet?

You have to have good genetics for a 6 -pack.
The average shmuck has something resembling a 2- pack.

Unless you're genetically programmed to carry very little fat around the midsection ... forget about it.
And no Ultra-trendy flavor-of-the-week routine or electronic gizmo can change that fact.

BTW: Dieting and weight training don't mix.

Vanity,

First, I don't do fads and I don't diet Secondly, if what you are saying is true, then what's point of anyone without "good genetics" exercising at all I agree that genetics does play a big part of it, but you'll have to forgive me if I don't "forget about it." I simply refuse to belief that genetics is the end all to be all on the matter.

people exercise for lots of reasons not just for great abs.
Not many people can get a highly defined , rippled look. I don't care how hard you train.

If you don't believe me, train and take some before and after pics of your abs.

with a proper diet and training, virtually anyone can get ripped, obviously based on genetics it will be easier for some, and much more difficult for others.

vanity,

I'm not suggesting that the only reason to exercise is to get great abs. I'm simply saying that everyone should have a goal in mind when they exercise. My goal is to get toned as well as get size(oh, and a six pack would be great too).

I appreciate your input, but my question was directed to anyone who actually does Tae-Bo.

why tae bo anyway...

why not tai chi?

Posted by: BabsieGirl

because it's an aerobic exercise.

Posted by: Diakonos

In addition to being an aerobic exercise, it looks fun. I'm more likely to stick with it if I enjoy doing it. Tai Chi seems to be more of a spiritual thing.

That's the spirit Diakonos.
