I love sweet potatoes but am at a loss as to how to cook them. I've been trying to cook them in the microwave but I end up leaving them in there too long and they dry out. I love them with cinnamon. Any other cooking/serving suggestions?

Baking or boiling.
Baking takes a long time. I know there is a thread on how long to bake them. I do mine 400 degrees for about an hour or so.

Just did a search and found some great info, thanks Jodi.

i also like slicing them up and baking them so they're like strips. (pretend they're french fries....they aren't but it adds variety)
as for cooking them whole...
i've found they taste better baked than microwaved but i rarely plan far enough ahead to bake them so i compromise and microwave them for a few minutes first and then back them so they don't take as long in the oven.

ME TOO! Thats my fav way. I add some garlic salt and season salt then eat them with mayo. They kick ass compared to real french fries!

personally i boil them
its a piece of cake... just chop em up n' dump em in boiling water for 15 mins or so until cooked
just like your cooking pasta or something, and they taste great and no risk of burning them (well thats what happens when i try n' do them in the oven)
try that n' c what u think
peace

I bake them for about 30 mins at 400. Just watch em. I like them pretty crispy!

I cook mine in the microwave and they come out fine. Just remember to poke holes in it with a knife or fork prior to cooking.
