the analysis of the Tri-O-Plex bars vs what's on the label doesn't look so good....(in my opinion the difference is huge)

yeah, i saw this over at BB.com... I was like WOAH... hello SUGAR!

Posted by: Leslie

I know But to be honest, I knew they wouldn't
I was in denial.

I havent had one in a while, depsite my fiance's plea to split a bar.
Him: Split one with me, I dont want a whole one.
Me: Honey, I cannot have ANY carbs
Him: Theres only 9 in the bar for christ sakes
Me: If you say so.
Him: You are way too anal with your carb thing 4.5 carbs wont mess up your plan.

I just emailed the lab test to him Now he can STFU

too funny leslie! when i heard talk of banana and peanut butter i knew that it would be best for me to never taste one....that way i wouldn't have something else to stop eating.

Posted by: dg806

Doesn't really matter. If you are watching what you eat, then you shouldn't eat them. If you are on a bulk, no problem.

How can the label be so far off? Isnt that illegal or something?

Posted by: 1Fast400

I still have no response from Chef Jay in regards to it.

Posted by: Leslie

HOw long do companies generally take to respond?

Posted by: nickfinity

1Fast400, did you ever hear from Chef Jay? I just had one of these for the first time the other day and thought they were too good to be true. So I did some looking around and found the report that you were talking about. Oh well, I'm trying to stay away from bars anyway.

So far this is the only response we know of:

Dear Valued Customer,

It has recently been brought to our attention of a certain web site that taken the unauthorized, liberties to assay our product line.
As you well know, there are many various test and laboratories available at times; practical tests and conclusions may be drawn in error.
We are aggressively, looking into these unauthorized claims both on a practical and legal platform but rest assured if any corrections is in fact needed they will be made. Thank you for your continued interest and support.

Very Truly Yours,
Chef Jay’s Food Products

Yeah, that consumer advocacy website would have absolutely no reason to lie about the test. Looks like Chef Jay has some 'splainin to do.

Leslie, is that an Irish smilie face? I can't tell if the last color is orange or red...

Posted by: nikegurl

i think it's red and it's an italian smilie face

by the way...just some trivia. for ages the irish flag was green white and gold. the orange is a british thing that has taken hold. (granny was a runner in the ira so i know the propaganda lol)

Posted by: Leslie

Irish!? I thought you have seen my pics?

No, it's ITALIAN like NG said

Um, heellllooo!
Did you click on the testing site? The reason why we are complaining is the label is NOT TRUE.
False. A lie. Misleading.
The bar has over 50g carbs...not 11.

Posted by: tomas101

ya i looked at the site..i dont buy the site's info..looks iffy to me...why would they put out a product of that caliber if they know that others will test them?? i'd rather see the tests that they did and the records...theres to much at stake to make a fuk up that big on tri-o-plex's part

I suppose you are new to the Bodybuilding and fitness world. Everyone knows bars and powders are not regulated by the FDA, so companies can put WHATEVER they want on the labels. Chef Jay was a smart business man- think about how many bars he sold before getting caught Would you have bought the bar if it were labeld with 50g carbs> Didnt think so.

Perhaps you have heard of the Detour bar by Designer? It was tested by the same exact lab and found to have something like 8 more grams of sugar and more carbs and fat than the package stated. They had to relabel all the new bars to reflect the CORRECT stats.

Everyone has a right to believe what they want. But remember the info was presented to you so when the pounds are not coming off, don't wonder why.

Posted by: tomas101

thankfully i dont have that problem...but still would like the evidence..not just what somebody says they found

I guess you don't know as well, that oats ARE counted as carbs. Chef Jay deducted the oats from the carb count to get that Net carbs so that is also inaccurate.

Posted by: tomas101

ahhhhhhh....that makes sense then..i thought that was including the oats to get 11

Posted by: Leslie

Quote from1fast400 regarding method of testing:

The testing method was AOAC, it is just internationally accepted.

I have no scientifc readings but it sounds like an international method would be somewhat reliable.

Posted by: tomas101

well i guess i wont buy any more after my cycle

Posted by: Leslie

Most bars are crap anyways. For an emergency, fine, but they should not be a regular part of any diet IMO.
