Next time add a couple of shots of vodka....that`ll get you to sleep and if cals don`t count when taken in the middle of the night you are home free.......

Here : http://www.optimumnutrition.com/prod...p?Inventory=12

Melatonin 3 mg 100 tablets

Melatonin is a hormone produced in the body and secreted at night. Taken as a dietary supplement, it is designed to help combat insomnia and may be useful for jet-lag.

2.50 for 100 capsules. Try that.

Wow that is cheap. I think I got ripped off for mine. Thats what I take also. I only take 1mg and I'm assed out.

Posted by: rock4832

I go with a bottle of wine or a few shots of whiskey. I know I don't sleep well on Wednesday nights, so every week I have the wine ready.

im just confused as to how i should calculate these added cals, being that ive already consumed my daily goal.

u are very lucky..i take about 16mg

Posted by: plouffe

oaktownboy - does it fuck you up, or does it just make you fall asleep? and also how well does it work?

Posted by: donescobar2000

I don't believe it is addictive because I sometimes forget to take it. Just my 2 cents.

I sometimes use Melatonin and fall right to sleep. The thing is, it doesnt last the night unless you can find the time released stuff. I've been using Valerian Root lately...that stuff is awesome!!! Sleep like a rock and wake up feeling great!

Hey Rock. How do you know that your not going to sleep on wednesdays.

Supposedly, alcohol helps you fall asleep easily, but its a restless sleep. There are definitely better ways to get to sleep than that. Just not as much fun!

ZMA promotes sleep.

Posted by: donescobar2000

Yes it does but to expensive. People just make there own.

Posted by: Prince

it's not expensive, a 2 month supply is $20.00

Doesn't magnesium promote sleep / muscle relaxation also?

Posted by: Prince

ZMA = Zinc & Magnesium Aspartate

Experience. I have clinicals early the next morning, have to get up at 4am. Throws my routine off and I lie awake thinking about the next day. Too many nights I didn't sleep.

Agree with you on the restless sleep, but restless is better than none!

I am a lifelong insomniac. The only thing that has helped me sleep is prescription Ambien. I still do take ZMA and Melatonin anyway.

aka Milk of Magnesia. lol

Posted by: BUSTINOUT

I have bigtime insomnia and have yet to find anything that works.

Posted by: BigBallaGA

i think everyone in here who is having sleep problems, that could be in direct coorelation with all of the garbage chemicals that you guys consume with all of your supplements, that is completely wreaking havoc on your system !!!!!!

Posted by: donescobar2000

That could be possible. If anything I would blame my hydroxycut. I already dropped it though and sleep better. Also low carb diets do have an affect on sleep paterns.

Posted by: Mudge

I was taking standard (Walgreens) sleeping pills, just one a night, works pretty well. I have been off them for about a month though, same active 25mg found in Tylenol PM and others. I have never tried melatonin yet.

It interupts natural sleep patterns true, taking away from the quality of sleep. Not to say that light alcohol will cause lack of sleep, eh.

I have had problems my entire life, and I am fairly certain I know why (natural problem tied to serotonin/melatonin). Regularity is the first step, the same sleep hours every night, and ideally wakeup times - but I do sleep in a little on the weekends but I can't sleep in more than 2 hours or so over my normal wakeup time. I do nap about an hour or so a day after I come home and get a meal in me.

Posted by: donescobar2000

Isnt 7 hours the minimum for good sleep patterns?

Posted by: Jill

I wish I had problems sleeping-I think I could fall asleep at any time of the day!

7 hours is the average the last time I saw a survey, 4.5 hours for night workers. I prefer to have 8 if I can.

Posted by: donescobar2000

I get about 7 thank god.

Posted by: sentricyphen

but about the calories/macros, should i just subtract from the next day?

Wanna trade?

Posted by: sli

Im was into the melatonin for a while, but it makes me groggy in the morn. I once tried some over the counter sleep pills, but they are the same. I guess im gonna have to resort to the occasional vodka shot b4 bed.

Let me know if anyone has used anything that is low on the grog side.....
