K-State spanks the Sooners

Going into it, most thought Kansas State at least had a chance against Oklahoma, but did any one think they would dominate 35-7?

This changes the outlook for the nat'l championship game. The BCS bowls will be announced at 5:30 pm today. Should be interesting.

the BCS is such a bunch of BS. I watched the game last night and they got their ass kicked but IMO OU should still be #1 or 2, not 3. How the fuck are you gonna bump USC up to #1 and keep them out of the national champoinship?????? The # 2 & 3 are playin in the sugar bowl!!!WTF. this bowl system is so fucked I can't even begin to rant about it. They are gonna end up having a split champinship the way things have panned out. IMHO LSU shouldn't be in th etitle game, it should still be OU and USC. What a fucked up situation this is. You gotta hand it to Kansas State though, they whooped on em pretty good. They just scored any way they wanted pretty much. So much for Whites Heisman campaign, ha ha . Larry Fitzgerald should get it anyways, he is the better player. I hate when they give the Heisman to the QB on the number 1 team, it doesn't make sense IMO

that RB for K St was AMAZING.

he's only like 5'6" if i remember correctly, and they couldnt get him down. not to mention that he was like the fastest/quickest dude ever.

Plus w/ roberson, they just ran all over OU all game. alls they did was draw plays/options every play, and either the QB or Rb would break for a first down like every play........

Because they lost to an unranked team and play a ridiculously weak schedule, at least compared to LSU's.

LSU deserves to be there. Period.

Not that USC is to blame for their schedule...they tried to toughen it up by playing Auburn and Notre Dame. But they turned out to suck. So they tried to overcome the SOS problem created by a relatively weak conference schedule but it didn't work out.

that may be, but my point is that if USCis gonna be the #1 ranked team, they need to play for the champoinship IMO. If not don't rank them #1. OH should still be in the top 2 definately, they have only lost once to a good team. If K-state didn't have their QB injured they probably would have a better record, soem picked them to go to the sugar bowl at teh beginning of the season and they were still ranked 15 when they beat them. It just isn't fair that USC gets the title of #1 and is left out of the Sugar Bowl, make sense? I think that LSU is awesome and should have a shot. Besides didn't USC lose to Wash St earleir, that is a worse loss than losing to Kstate. The point is its all fucked up, they need a playoff damnit. that is the only way to be fair.

When my Ohio State Buckeyes lost to Michigan I thought to myself, at least they won't have to play Oklahoma..... so now they play K-State in the Orange Bowl.

Yeah K-State's RB looked awesome. Bet the USC/Michigan game will be a great match up.

While I agree that this is a messed up situation, I don't see what the big deal is. Everyone is acting like the BCS needs to be trashed and we go back to the old system. Well, the "old system" would not have produced USC vs LSU or USC vs Oklahoma - all three teams would have been in different bowls.

This is the BCS at its worse and it is STILL better than the old system. I am not in favor of a playoff but I do admit that the mess this year is an example of why we may need one.

All I know is that Clemson is going to put a hurtin' on the Volunteers. (I also know that the Seahawks suck, but who doesn't know that.)

by the way, USC lost to Cal in multiple overtimes.

Easily the worst team of the three teams losses.

In fact, if all three had lost this weekend...USC to Cal, Oklahoma to K State and LSU to Florida...I don't think anyone would be complaining. USC's loss is clearly the ugliest of the bunch.

I am not really against it either. I just don't see it as being that great. I love the bowls as they are now that they got rid of all the tie-ins.

I have said for a long time that eventually there will be 4 to 6 Super-Conferences and the conference champs will have a playoff. I could live with that.

I think the top 8 or so should have a playoff, the BCS setup is so unfair. It is ridiculous in fact. The only reason that they have it instad of a playoff is b/c the bowl games make so much money, but div 2 has a playoff system, everyone has a playoff. It is teh way to go for sure.

PS hey pepper, did you watch MNF?? the god damn browns should've won that game, St louis was givin it to them with that missed FG!? WTF, Couch sucks. He fumbled teh ball twice when they were driving to score. BS

The whole ranking system is screwed up. People will vote for USC to be ranked #1, but what if USC's only lost came in their final game and OK's lost came in the middle of the season, then would people think differently? This is known as the Regancey Effect. People are more likely to remember what happened last than what happened first.
