Mike Vick - Enough Already!

OK, I like Michael Vick. I think he is amazing. I thought so both times he beat Clemson in college. However, last night the ESPN announcers were just plain sickening. Accoriding to Paul McGuire and Joe Theisman I was able to get up, get dressed and get to work safely this morning all because of Michael Vick.

I haven't been that sick of hearing about one player since Dick Enberg did an Elway game.

I'm glad I missed it. Those ESPN football announcers SUCK. And Michael Irvin in the studio has to GO.

Falcons fans better get used to going long stretches without Vick. This will not be the last time he misses half a season because of an injury. There is no way a run-and-gun QB can play that style for very long without getting the crap knocked out of him. Sure he is fun to watch, but he is one hit away from the IR when he scrambles around like that.

Posted by: dg806

My thoughts exactly. One may even end his career!

Posted by: PIMPZNHUSTLAZ

Yah, the announcers were all over his jock. You know the Falcons staff is crossing their fingers and holding their breath every time Vick scrambles. He's exciting to watch, but will be very injury-prone. Hey, at least he was smart enough to run out of bounds instead of taking a hit on some of his runs...LOL!

Posted by: gr81

How dare you all! they talk about him b/c he brings in revenues and is the new wave in football. I don't care b/c I love him and think he is one of the worlds top athletes and probably the biggest attraction to pro football in a long time. Thin about this though, they don't talk about him NEARLY as much as they talked about Lebron James, and at least Vick has proved he can play great football up to that point. Nothing was worse than all that Lebron talk IMO

Posted by: PIMPZNHUSTLAZ

Vick is the shiznit, but running quarterbacks are usually injury prone. I hope he can stay healthy, so we can so what he can do for a full season. He's also fun to play with on Madden 2004..LOL!

no shit. i won't even watch an ESPN sunday night game (unless its the Pats, then i'll just watch it on Mute), the guys are the worst announcers EVER. They just say the most blatantly obvious shit. Say they're doing a Pats/Colts game....

"The Pats are gonna not want to let the Colts get off to an early lead and have to play from behind. Because if they get down too many points, its difficult to come back and win. Afterall, the team with the most points at the end of the game always wins". NO SHIT YOU ASSHOLES.

And yes, Vick is awesome. He's not even fair to play with in Madden '04. My roomate gets sooo pissed whenever i get the Falcons (we do random select). I run ALL over him with Vick and he's like "he's not even that good". hahah. then i made him watch the highlights from this weekend, and he didnt knwo what to say.....

Thats because Vick is the best.

Well, I guess it depends.

He probably is the best athlete in the game today.

He is probably NOT the best QB in the game today. Steve McNair (who has been hurt too this year but played) is better, to name just one. He may be the best soon, but not now.

He is nowhere near the level of being compared to a John Elway or Dan Marino. Again, that could change.

What I am saying is he is full of potential but pontential is a fancy way of saying "ain't done shit yet."

give him time! He already has two of the top three highest rushing records for a QB including one in his game back from injury, plus he has a cannon for an arm. He will be teh best when it is all said and done IMO. Hey Flex, we need to get some intercoastal madden 2004 crackin online! ha ha

i proved my point again, and you guys'll agree if you watched the Pats game tonite.

the announcers are MORONS. i hate joe theisman and those other guys w/ a passion.

BUT, "The Patriots Win!!!! Theeeeeeeeeeeee Patriots Win!"

Man our friggin team is lookin great. Our D is playin out of this world. Looks like we're gettin homefield advanctage for the playoffs boys......

(Hey Gr- i'm thinkin' of pickin up your boy Hasselbeck for my fantasy squad tomorow. i have McNair, but he's currently suffering from a severe case of Vaginitis)

Thats 11 straight wins for the Pats. looks like they will take it all. Philly and New England it seem like for Superbowl. Too bad my Dolphins aren't going to do it. They seem to crash everytime this time of year. Oh well.

can you believe that hasselback was snubbed from the pro bowl picks!! The numbers don't lie, he is better than most of the guys picked stat wise. He is being punished b/c his team plays like shit on the road IMO. He deserves that shit.

My understanding is that he is the first alternate and since Favre usually declines the Pro Bowl, Hasselbeck will make it. He better, he has had a hell of a year. Seattle has struggled at times, but their struggles have never been at QB.

Think of what his numbers would be if DJ hadn't dropped all those passes!

Plus, the defensive lineman and some of the linebackers, who get so much less attention, probably hate everyone talking about him nonstop, so they target him more. They're probably out to hurt the guy more than the other quarterbacks.

The pro-bowl is a popularity contest. Seattle is not much of a football town to put it lightly, so there's a lot less interest in voting they're hometeam players into the pro-bowl. That's one of the reasons why Sean Alexander is so underrated. Favre will always make the pro-bowl, the people in wisconsin love him, and many here in northern Illinois do too. If Favre made a public announcement and told them all they should eat shit if they're loyal to him, half of them would probably do it, they're crazy here. It's a big popularity contest.

I hate the Patriots more than any team in the NFL. Second is the Eagles. Something about McNaab, he just pisses me off. I hope Neither of them wins the superbowl, but if I had to pick one, it would be the Eagles I'd rather see. The Patriots always jack me in football pools, if I pick them to win, they lose, If i pick them to lose, they win.

Don't get me started. i realize everyone has an opinion, but how could you hate the Patriots? They're all underrated guys, that get no attention, that work their asses off and somehow find a way to win, no matter what the obstacle.
whatever, your opinion means nothing to me haha

Maybe you should take a hint in your pools. They've won 11 in a row if thats not a big enough hint...

This year they've been pretty consistent, but in years past they've pissed moff to the max. I'm a cowboys fan, and I like a lot of other teams, but not the Pats. Tom brady is jsut so freakin' gay, soemthing about him. Goody Goody or something, I don't know. And the way you put the find a way things with they find a way to win, I say the sneak out victories they didn't deserve at the last second, or, like with Oakland two years ago, get a cheap call to put them through. Either way, I hate the Patriots. But hey, How 'bout them Cowboys?

Pretty consistent? ya try the best record in teh NFL and 11 wins in a row. Sneak out victories? bro, you obviously know nothing about football. in football, a W is a W, doesnt matter how you get it. in the end only wins matter, not by how much you win by.

Tom Brady also has the best winning % in the NFL, not to mention a ridiculous amount of comeback wins.

Cowboys? haha, they're a joke. wait. did we beat the Cowboys? i forgot? thats right, now i remember.

talk all the shit about them, doesnt bother me. alls i know is they are the best team in the NFL right now, u can't beat that.
like i said, you have your opinion, i have mine. yours means nothing to me. besides, opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one.

I gotta agree with most of what you say RC, but Cmon man, alexander, underrated!!! no fuckin way. You have obviously never seen him run the ball very many times. He is sooooo overrated, He is the biggest pussy in the league no doubt. I have watched him run for a long time now, and I can safely say there is no way he deserves teh attention he gets. No way. Trust me man, alexander I would trade for a bag of footballs and it would be a good trade for gods sake!

I can honestly say I haven't seen him run hardly at all, I'm just going by ESPN mag that hails him as an up and coming running back, or at least did in one issue where they ran like a 4 page article about him. They don't play a lot of Seahawks games in Illinois, or Cowboys for that matter, I need a dish.

Nothing huh? I've played it the last four years, and watched it my whole life. I've played in games we lost, even though we dominated 90% of the time, lucky breaks and long running touchdowns. I've also played in ones where we got victories when we didn't really deserve to win. But that's what makes football great, it's so unpredicatable. As far as the patriots, I never said they weren't a good team, probably one of the top 5 in the NFL, I just said I hate them.

right, thats my poiunt. Whenever there is a nationally televised game the announcers talk about him like he is dope as fuck, it pisses me off. He is THE BIGGEST PUSSY in teh nfl hands down. He is the only tailback that QB slides!! howe about that. He is straight scared of getting hit, fuck that. I would trade him for a bag of footballs in a sec. Trust me, I watch him run every week.
