I don't do either but I was wondering, is it better to smoke cigarettes or cigars when you are training, was told that cigars contained 'pure tobacco' and weren't as bad for you and cigs.

yikes I dont know... both are TERRIBLE for a person!

atherjen - you are rippped out.

like ather said,
both are not good.
although, most people don't inhale cigars when they smoke them, therefore they don't get most of the smoke intake you get when you smoke cigarettes (which you completely inhale). so i guess with cigars, although much heavier tobacco, you only have to deal w/ 2nd hand smoke.
personally, i have asthma, and so i hate being around either one of them....

okay cool, just that since my uncle started training ( three months back) he quit smoking cigarettes and now he is weaning himself off of cigars. How cum the Oak is always smoking cigars?

well they have said it all... and why would you care what the Oak are doing? Do you sincerely think smoking can help you?(although it does raise metabolic rate by &%)
