A Little Advice Please???

Hey everyone. I've got a few probably over asked questions but please bare with me because I am new and really wanting to learn.

I'm 20 years old, 5'8 and 145 lbs. or so. My weight can fluctuate anywhere from 140-148. I don't follow any "specific" diet but I eat pretty clean. I eat a lot of lean meats (chicken, fish) and a ton of veggies (no butter). The majority of my carbs are from veggies, light popcorn, fiber one, kashi cereal and beans. I am looking to lean out and to get to 125-130. I am not "fat" but I would like to be a lot trimmer. My problem area is my butt and the upper part of the back of my legs. I would like to tone down all over and then concentrate on adding in some muscle, but I don't want too much.

My questions:

1. After I eat, regardless of what it is I eat my stomach gets extremly bloated. Sometimes it's so bloated it hurts. What causes this and is there anything I can do to get rid of it?

2. Should I take any form of diet pill or any other supplement? I don't know a thing about supplements. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

3. What should my daily intake of calories be? I would like to loose 2 lbs. per week.

4. How much cardio is neccessary? I have a treadmill at home but I really hate cardio. I don't mind doing it a few times a week but I'd rather just have a greater deficiency in my diet than to have to work out every day. I am extremly pressed for time.

5. I would like to get to 125 as stated earlier. How long do you anticipate that this will take?

** Thanks in advance for your help. Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated!!

How much water are you drinking?

A fat burner would help.

3. What should my daily intake of calories be? I would like to loose 2 lbs. per week.

You should eat *12,13, or 14 your bodyweight is ideal depending on your metabolism. I would aim for 1 lb a week for minimal muscle loss.

3 day of moderate cardio is fine maybe 30 minutes a day. Possibly more because you are a women. If not a couple of sessions of HIIT which I would research on.

5. I would like to get to 125 as stated earlier. How long do you anticipate that this will take?

This depends soley on you and how big your deficit is. Not to say you should go to drastic measure with food intake.

Bull on the cardio and fat burner Dones!

You need to lift and eat healthy. Start by reading the sticky at the top of this forum called Guide to Cutting and Bulking. Learn about proper nutrtion. Come up with some ideas for a meal plan that will work for you and post them. We can help critique from there.

Cardio should be used as a tweaking tool, not a primary means to lose bodyfat. Your diet is number one and no fat burner will help until your diet is in order.

In the meantime Lift Heavy! Don't be afraid of the weights. Every pound of muscles burns from 30-50 cals a day, so the more muscle you have the more fat your burn.

I barely do any cardio but thats mean. You can incorporate it but I would never suggest that much cardio until you've tried to get your diet in order.

Um....ok.

Seriously, Don. Everything else I agree with but pills and cardio are tools, not mandatory for cutting. Diet is key and that should be cleaned up before throwing a bunch of things into the mix.

ok.

Sorry if I came across harsh. I didn't mean it. I'm having a pisser of a day and I'm in very depressing mood. I apologize if it came out wrong. You have a right to your opinion.

HIIT has more benefits than the direct effect on fat loss. It can also improve CV health as well as increase metabolism. I personally do not see the point in doing low intensity cardio for any reason.

As J said, tweak your diet first, but cardio is one of the more underrated forms of training.

HITT is also said to increase hGH levels also ( bodybuilding.com )

sex burns mad calories !!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes HIIT is anabolic.

Always on point Balla.

Jodi... I agree with you, but here is my personal opinion...

Seems like Cardio and diet is all you need to overall slim down... if you want to change the shape of specific parts of your body, weights would give you those results...

My reasoning is

A: You can't chose where the fat is lost on your body
B: You don't NEED more muscle to create a caloric deficit
C: Adding muscle requires additional nutrients, which if cutting is the goal, diet really won't permit it... sure, weight lifting will burn some calories, but most likely you won't be adding muscle mass.

I KNOW that I will take some major lectures for this post... but I honestly feel this way, and I don't think it's really that crazy of a concept...

Thanks everyone. This is my basic daily diet:

Breakfast: 1/2 cup egg whites
1 slice turkey
1/3 cup FF mozzerella cheese

Snack: 1/2 cup fiber one cereal
1 cup LF cottage cheese
1 tbs. FF whip cream
sprinkle with cinnamon (don't know calories of this)

Lunch: Either: clam chowder (220 calories)
grilled chicken salad, no dressing
6 in. veggie delite sub on wheat (Subway)
1 can tuna in water, 2 cups baby carrots, 1 lg. celery stalk
veggie soup (tons of veggies & chicken broth)

Snack: Either: 1 cup carrots
apple

Dinner: Chicken or Fish
Lots and lots of veggies

Snack: Either: Healthy Pop popcorn
Cereal
FFSF Ice Cream
Cottage Cheese

My workouts are my biggest obstacle. I work one full time job, 1 part time job and I go to school full time at night so I'm really pressed for time. Any help is appreciated!

Water, as has been said before or you may be having a food allergy reaction. Do you drink milk products?

2. Should I take any form of diet pill or any other supplement? I don't know a thing about supplements. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

No

You cannot change yourself without changing your lifestyle. Working out, whatever you do is an important part of this and provides many more benefits other than weight loss.

5. I would like to get to 125 as stated earlier. How long do you anticipate that this will take?

125 lbs at 5'8" is an unhealthy weight for your size. 135-140 is fine for your height. Don't worry about the scale, go by how you look and how you feel.
