Fish oil use within the carb cycling diet

Is the fat from fish oil, taken at 10-20g/day, counted as part of the carb cycling diet? i.e., using the basic program (4 meals of lean protein, 2 of a higher fat protein), does taking 10g of fish oil substitute for other fat sources that you would otherwise take (PB, flax, mayo, etc)?

One of the descriptions i read was a little unclear on whether the fish oil was viewed as an extra supplement or as an actual fat source.

The only fat you need in carb cycling is from 2 fatty protein meals a day or 1 fatty protein meal and 1 T. Flax or 2T. natty PB. Then 20G of fish oil. I don't mean 20G of EPA/DHA but actually 20 caps each cap=1G Fat each.

No other fat is needed. You can use a bit of cream for coffee if desired.

It's viewed as an actual fat source. 10 to 20g is what you should shoot for. If you don't take in 2 higher fatty protiens (ie beef, steak etc) then you'll want to add in 2 additional fats ie natty pb.

sorry jodi, must have posted at the same time.

Excellent. Thanks you two.

Doesnt TP say you can use mayo as a fat source too?

Yeah mayo is an acceptable fat source. You can click on Jodi's sig "Guide to Cutting, Bulking & Maintenance" to view TP's carb cycling diet.

Yes, but that's not additional. You can use mayo in place of a high fat protein for one of your 2 fattier protein meals.

Alright, one more question...

Tell me if i'm understanding this correctly:

Protein and fat consumption stays relatively constant throughout the high, low, and no carb days. The only macro that fluctuates is the carbs. On low and no carb days, total cals will be significantly lower than high carb days, as neither fat or protein increase to compensate for the decrease in carbs. Right?

I searched a few of the journals, and im pretty sure thats correct, but just wanted to make sure.
