i was just wondering if it was possible to gain 20 lbs. of muscle mass within the next 5 weeks (i'm home from school now so i have the opportunity to eat a lot and bulk up before i go back) i went from 200 to 206 in the 1st week and i'm eating about 3500 cal. a day with about 315g of protein, but i dont wanna try and accomplish this if its not possible...

There's no way you can add 20lbs of lbm in 5 weeks. The 6lbs you gained was mostly water and/or fat. People using drugs cant even add that much mass that quickly.

now this is the most dumbest question I've read yet..............

I'm sorry...I usually don't respond this way....but darn it....do you research?

Don't set yourself up for a let down.

Okay.....Go here and read.........experiement and see what works for you............................................... Keep in mind, what worked for someone else may not necessarily work for you......When doing this, keep an open mind.......

I doubt it possible to gain 20lbs. of FAT in 5 weeks.....and believe me, this is an area I can speak of with authority.

Why is everybody in such a mad rush to see results?

Posted by: Leslie

Well I gained 17 pounds in two days.

Then again it was the 2 days after my contest and my water levels were all out of whack

Actually in 5 weeks.. at most I'd say 10 pounds. Possibly more. If your willing to spend some cash. M 1-T - Look into that. If you do what you gotta do, and do it right. You possibly may beable to accomplish that. But I'm talking some work. But I wouldn't say it's impossible. But again, you gotta ****in live like a freak for the next 5 weeks. And spend a few bucks on some **** to "assist" you in your JOURNEY!! <-- sounded cool!

Not even on steroids will someone gain 20 pounds of LBM in 35 days. 20 pounds of muscle/fat/water, sure.

This I wouldn't dispute at all. Although it appears that you can easily afford to 'gain' while some cannot.

I was referring to good old adipose tissue, which my system is quite reluctant to part with.
This, along with other metabolic mishaps, I have addressed in my latest book, "Survival of the Fattest".....Forward written by TP. (Very very short forward)

Every competitor has a story like that to tell, massive weight gain within hours and days afterwards

Posted by: calalily1972

12 pounds for me in less than 24 hours

Posted by: DaMayor

I'll see your twelve and raise you one..*tears open M&M's*

over 10 weeks with proper macro timing and caloire expediture and deficit with slamming tons of BCAAS and gltuemine and other natural supplments a good solid 8 -10 lbs may beb feasible but to gain 20 and keep 20 well thats another story. I will be 215 -220 in about 5 weeks from 205 and then I will go into a hardening phase to gel the new muscle and maintain muscle gained and to strip the fat ..

what exactly does this mean?

Posted by: dg806

Sounds like he's going to take someting like 5aa (DHT precursor)that will harden and strip water from your system making you vascular.

Posted by: ponyboy

After my first comp I gained 25 pounds in five weeks. Of course, I needed to because I was one skinny little mofo

Posted by: hardasnails1973

i may lose 1-3 lbs but I will get alot tighter. When I diet in to the show I gain weight and come almos same weight I started at 12 weeks out. Gel means to solidify new muscle gains that is why one should cycle caloires 5 -6 gain 2-3 harden phase Gain 10 lose 4 up 6 not a bad way to go if i do say so my self ..

sorry, let me clarify....

people using drugs can gain 20lb in 5 weeks, but, like mudge said, it won't all be LBM.

Posted by: A.B

this thread is a damn joke.

Posted by: Flex

i put on 20lb in the 1st 5 weeks of my cycle.

i don't know if it was all LBM. call it waterweight or whatever you wanna call it, but at 20lb heavier, i was/am the biggest AND most ripped i've ever been. therefore, i believe most of it is LBM. i'm not bloated or anything. my waist is the smallest its ever been (while "on", when typically you kinda get bloated, go figure....)

why do you say that?

Posted by: Mudge

So if we are to assume 25-30 pounds total in 5 weeks, that doesn't sound healthy to me.

Posted by: BabsieGirl

I agree!

The original question is off the wall.

Posted by: Mudge

When you gain weight like that, you will tend to sweat like crazy, and your resting heart rate will be at an unhealthy level. Seriously if you are not in this for the long haul, you should look to something else. 20 pounds on most people would be over an inch on the arms, that is not something easily achieved naturally in barely over a month, or on gear - and still we would be talking alot of water from aromatase conversion in our gear example.

This is a good thread simply because a lot of newbies have probably wondered the same thing. I've talked to many people who have completely unrealistic goals when starting out. Hopefully, this will keep some newbie, whos been working out for a week, from getting on gear thinking its a miracle drug that'll make him like Arnold in 3 weeks. Or at the least, keep them from getting discouraged when they dont reach these unrealistic goals.

This is true...

Never looked at it from that stand point..

Thanks Var

I was expecting to get flamed for that one!

Posted by: BabsieGirl

Nah...I'm open minded.....Can only speak for me though

Posted by: reese

when he says muscle mass he doesnt necessarily mean LBM... he maybe i think wants to gain some strength in place of ripped look bulk up with strength... that is my understanding, everyone has their different opinions... that is mine. maybe he should clarify what he means.
