rigged weighted dips?

for some reason the gym i just joined for the my winter break doesnt have a weight bearing belt for dips and pullups (dont need them for pullups though)

so i was going to rig something up? any ideas

i was just thinking an old belt and then tie a piece of string to it and loop it though the weight and back up?

i know you can put a dumbell inbetween your feet but it seems very awkard and somewhat hard to get up then...

Take a length of chain or a nylon rope tied into a loop and a snap link and loop it through your lifting belt at the front.

It may not be very comfortable using a regular belt due to its small size. The lifting belt will distribute the weight like a dipping belt will.

If I go to a gym with out a dip belt I just try to hold a dumbelll between my feet to weight myself down. It gets really ugly whey I am holiding the 140 thought.

I know, that is why I said hold the dumbell between your feet. Squeeze it between your arches.

Not to be a smart ass but why don't you just buy one! It will also be much safer then rigging something yourself.
