hi guys, i take a once a day time released multi vitamin and mineral in the morning. I was wandering whether its ok to take a second one at night. As some of you may know i have alot of problems with sore throats and cold and was thinking that taking two pills a day may help my immune system. As well as the multi vit i also take vit c, magnesium and zinc.

Yes,you can take a second one at night, unless they are very high in the fat soluable vitamins like A,D,E,etc. In too high amounts they can be toxic...but this is rare.By the way,do you use glutamine? This is a tremendous immune system enhancer.I use it daily and never get a sniffle.

I have tried glutamine before. The problem i have with it is the price. In the u.k glutamine is very expensive. If anyone knows where to buy it at a reasonable price it would be a big help.

I would not, especially if it has B vitamins.

It depends on the multi. If it is mostly all water soluable vitamins then I would say go ahead. But also look how much of the vitamins are in the pill. For example, I used to take two a day of some cheap multis that had like 100% of a bunch of vitamins, but then I started buying one's that had like 300% of alot of vitamins in each pill so I went to one a day.

most one-a-day multi vitamins are not very high in anything really, they only supply the rda's, and in my opinion, that's not enough anyway. i know, a diet rich in veggies has to be the main focus, especially because of so called phyto nutrients which you won't find in a pill - and i eat plenty of those -, but i prefer to take high potency vitamins/minerals myself. i like twinlabs mega 6 caps best.

Correct Crowman and Cytrix....it depends on the brand of multi. Most are not very potent as most RDA's aren't sufficient, especially for bodybuilders and athletes.I also agree that you can't neglect fruits and veggies for their known and still unknown phytonutrients. Also, you must take into consideration if you are using MRP's which generally have a full spectrum of vitamins and minerals as well.
As for glutamine,I don't know where you can get it cheap in England.Aren't there any discount warehouses on the web that have it cheap and will deliver to your country?
And Prince...why would you worry about the b-vitamins,being that they are water soluable.Any excess is simply excreted, unlike the fat soluable vits.

I bought some glutamine on the net yesterday. I got 1000g for about £55 which i thinkn is pretty good. I also got some ala so i reckon my immune system will get a pretty good boost!
