okay, i know i should not drink too much when i'm cutting because of the sugar

but what about when i'm bulking

bear in mind i'm an ectomorph trying to bulk, i need all the calories i can get right now

so would a glass of milk with every home meal be okay?

also is it okay to have a glass of milk and a apple or something if i'm really hungry and my dinner is still not gonna be ready for another hour?? (anyone who lives in a single parent family with a mom who seems to forget you exist half the time will know what i'm on about.... mom its 9 o'clock! dinner was meant to be ready at 7!!! lol)

peace

yes especially being an ectomorph milk can be your friend when bulking, adds in some extra calories, protein and nutrients.

I do this all the time as I'm an ectomorph....
I average about a gallon a day with chocolate syrup....
I drink it in between meals, separate from my mrp snacks

most definitely.

is milk good for a meso on a bulk?

Posted by: SJ69

Milk is good for EVERYONE !!!
8g protein, only 12g carbs, low fat or no fat.
If you're on an Atkin's diet then it's a no-no, but unless you're avoiding carbs there's no reason to avoid it. Unless you're lactose intolerant.
Drink up !!

Not really it has alot of sugar and sugar is bad for everyone.

Hell ya milk is good for bulking.

i buy 3 gallons every time i shop (costs me a fortune). but i drink it w/breakfast, in shakes and in cereal.

Like I said if your diet is strict on the carbs then it's a no - go.
But it's great to mix with whey. For example say you add 20g whey, now you have 28g protein and 12-15g carbs and no fat(skim). That's 2-1 protein to Carb ratio, perfect for me anyway.

Not really all that expensive, $3.00 for 134g of quality, time released protein. Pretty good deal if you ask me.
I get at least 32g of good protein per day from milk, usually more.
The only thing I worry about is getting too much Calcium.
Any ideas on that???

Spending $10 just for 3 gallons of milk every week with the rest of my grocery shopping is expensive when you're in college you gotta pay your own bills bro.

The only thing i've heard from ingesting too much calcium is the formation of calcium deposits....

Damn, everything's $$$ when in college and it don't get no better when your out either, especially if there's a gold digger or two in your past and/or present.
Still, milk is a cheaper protein sourse than steak or chicken.

calcium depsits, that's what I'm wondering about.
Can drinking, say 1/2 gal a day, lead to calcium deposits?
Or is it more like the cholesterol thing, more dependant on genetics than diet?
You know the simple nature vs nurture question.

I don't understand this whole.... "if you're ok with carbs than you should be ok..."

holy sh#$... bulking without carbs?

oh ok, you mean sugar.... wow... careful with those 3 glasses of milk a day... you are getting 36g sugar!!!!! OMG!!!! someone please pump my stomach I feel the diabetes coming on already!

bleh bleh bleh bleh bleh

The quality protein and calcium in milk more than makes up for those measly 12g sugar...

^^ Personally I stay away from lactose and basically sugar altogether when I'm bulking, lactose makes me bloat immensely, I don't like the sensation at all. Sugar is a no-no for me at all times, unless I'm on a CKD and it's refeed time, in which case it's no-holds-barred...you can get casein sans most of the lactose in full-fat or dry curd cottage cheese anyway...I'm glad to say that my sugar intake daily for almost two years now has been less than 10g a day...

Peace.

Milk is fine for bulking or maintenance. I would NEVER suggest milk for cutting. 12G sugar is alot for a single glass. For cutters there is the low carb FF milk by Hood called Carb Counters. Not saying you should be on a low carb diet but all cutters should watch sugar and this only has 3G sugar per cup with 12G protein.
