perfect post workout nutrition...

this is 1 part of my diet i have neglected a little

i use the following supplement, sometimes mixed with a 'all-in-one' creatine supp. but now i have the pure creatine i could just add it to this...

Protein (Whey) 32g
Carbs (Maltodextrins) 68g
Fats 10.2g

now that is just a weight gainer (that the company also highly recommends as a PWO shake), but my concern is the high number of fats post-workout, that must be my biggest fat intake meal of the day (very few meals don't go higher than 10g) and will the fat interfere with the fast protein absorbtion?

I was thinking of buying some plain maltodextrin and whey isolate and adding them together to get something like this...

Whey isolate 40g
Maltodextrin 60g
+5g Creatine (if on creatine cycle)
+5g Glutamine
+500g ALA capsule

will that be better?

what do you guys do for your post workout nutrition?

peace

I use:
- 45g whey isolate/hydrolyzed whey blend
- 1 cup quick oats
- 500mg ALA
- multivitamins

I can't deal with insulin spikes, they give me tremendous sugar crashes and being in university it's not a great thing. Also, using slower burning carbs in my shake helps keep me leaner IMO.

Peace.

well Ive done both, using dextrose/malto blend along with whey post workout for the insulin spike and have been doing oats and whey post workout now for a while and to be honest I havent noticed a difference.

the second option is far better.

spiking your insulin in the presence of fat pretty much garanatuees that that fat will be stored immediatly. Plus fat slows down digestion of the protien and carbs, which your muscles need ASAP PWO.
