Best Protein And Creatine

hi there!!!
i search to find one thread about the best protein and creatine but i found only the cheapest and with the best taste.
i wolud like to ask
for u,wich brand is the best for protein and creatine.(i take prolab now but i dunno if it works very good)
im 67kg
and i do my cycle like that
week 1 20g
week2 to 4 10g
week 5 20g
week 6 to 8 nothing

Protein is Protein dude... Just get yourself a popular whey brand and you should be fine. Same holds true for Creatine.. Just get yourself a good Creatine Monohydrate Powder and that is all you need. Salesmen will try to sell you other crap, but IMO that is all you need. If you are itchin to throw away your money though, I'm sure your local supplement store will be happy to sell you the moon

Costco is the best price for Protein....19.99 for 6lb tub, but I believe you are in UK and may not have that option. Other than that, any whey protein popular brand should be fine once again.

Define cycling? If you're referring to so many weeks on and off like for creatine, absolutely not. I never heard any benefit of cycling protein?

Not you Randy. I was asking Tiger Style if he was cycling Protein, that's what it looks like in his post. Yeah, you don't cycle protein, just wondering of TS realises that.

hmm..it does look like your cycling protien....you shouldnt do that...protien is the number 1 thing you need for growth...its a natural thing that you put in your body...its in steak, tuna, etc...do you cycle food?

No Tiger....

You do want to cycle Creatine.. Most standard monohydrate powders you are safe on a 3 week 1 week off cycle.. Take 5 grams 30 minutes before workout, and 5 grams after workout.
Both brands Plouffe recommended are popular. I don't know if you can find them in the UK... Check with your local health store, or supplement retailer. If you can't find one then simply order off the internet.

Don't ask wether you should or shouln't cycle creatine on this board because there isn't one set answer. Honestly, I don't it's nessacary. It's not like it puts that much stress on your body.

I cycle my protein and my creatine...

Creatine = 8hours on 8 hours off...

Protein = 2 hours on, 2 hours off

So far i really like this cycle...

Ok... first off, protein is NOT just protein. I learned that this weekend. There are complete proteins and partial proteins. Optimum Whey is just a partial protein. A good protein is After Max. You dont want to follow the directions though... each serving is 40grams I believe, but your body can anly absorb around 25-30 every two hours.

After max isnt totally complete either. It is however MUCH better than plain 100% whey protein. I am going to be looking into proteins here in the next few weeks to see which one is the best. 100% whey is just cheap thats why people like it. Try adding more protein via your diet too. Eat meats, cottage cheese, eggs etc.
Yes the After Max will be good post w/o.

Also you dont need more than 5 grams of creatine a day. Your body naturally produces it and 5 grams post w/o will be plenty.

Any brand will work. Pure creatine monohydrate is pure monohydrate no matter who it is from. I use Met-Rx though.

70kg is like 150Lbs or so isnt it? You need atleast 200grams of protein if you weigh 150Lbs. But you dont want to get it ALL from your protein suppliment. You need protein from other sources like I mentioned above.

Personally Premier I would have to disagree with you.
First of 5 grams of creatine is not enough. If you want to get technical I believe the appropriate amount per individual is determined by weight. The average person is 10 grams, 5 30 minutes before workout and 5 after. I do agree that the loading up phase can be eliminated. I weigh 225 and feel 10 grams is sufficient for me, but some body builders take 15. I surely believe that 5 grams is definately not enough. But you believe what you want to. As far as Proteins, 100 percent whey in my opinion is all you need. Hell and at 6lbs for 20 bucks at Costco, you can't beat that.. Don't waste your money on other crap. And IMO protein is protein...sure they have different types, but the bottom line is how much total quality protein your body is getting.
Outside of that there is slow and fast proteins.... For night time it is recommended to consume slow protein so that stays with you through the night... Cottage cheese is great for that. I also know someone who is working on a product specifically for that...not sure when it will be out.

I read somewhere that the body will only absorb around 3grams of creatine. Thats why I believe 5 is plenty. Not to mention taking too much will cease your natural production, which later in life is BAD. Unless ofcourse you are going to suppliment creatine untill you die.
Your right it does come down to how much QUALITY protein your body is getting. And recently I have learned that ON 100% whey is NOT quality protein. As for the night time protein, its called casein. They make proteins for this already. Bev.INTL might have some.

lots of generalizations thrown out here... alot of here say... alot of sheer opinion...

I don't see too much factual evidence for any of these claims... I definitely see a difference when i take 10g of creatine monohydrate vs 5g.... tested and true i know it's true for me...

ON 100% whey is good protein... yes, there's better... but please give me the Mathematical equation for the term QUALITY...

I'm not trying to be a smart ass.... I'm just throwing out my own OPINIONS since that's what everyone else is doing....

I've been over this and over this time and time again about creatine.... I know that 10 grams seems right for me. Like I mentioned if you want to get technical as to the correct amount I believe it is determined by body weight. I am 225 lbs and take 10 grams a day.. Some larger guys would be better with 15 grams... If your like 120-150 probably 5 grams is sufficient. I don't. No I don't have any scientific evidence, but this IMO is a safe amount based on the research I have acquired through the years. As for Whey Protein, again I feel it the best bang for the buck at 6lbs for 20 bucks....

Kewl Mayo... That holds true anywhere from supplement doses to exercise routines (They can vary from one individual to the next). What works on one, may not on another.

Tiger, Take 10 grams a day whether your working out or not.
Cycle 3 weeks on, and 1 week off. Take creatine till the day you die

Protein....Get yourself a good 100% whey protein. Most are 22 grams a scoop, so take 2 scoops. You will probably need 2-3 shakes a day mixed in with your natural protein. You should obtain a minimum of 1gram per body weight up to 1.5 grams.

Let say you weight 200... You want at least 200 grams a day of protein.

The best protein is natural protein that you get in foods, but because it is usually hard to use food alone to satisfy your maximum protein requirement, we use protein shakes.

Let say hypothetically.... you eat 6 meals a day...
2.5 - 3 hours apart

Here is an example:

1. protein shake 50 grams
2. tuna 50 grams
3. chicken breast 50 grams
4. carbs
5 fruit
6. protein shake 50 grams.


Ok there is 200 grams total protein between your shakes and natural food. (This is only a quick example) Don't condemn me people for this diet plan..
