NY Rangers acquire Jaromir Jagr

Looks like a steal for the Rangers. Jagr is not the answer to their problems, but no doubt this was a good pickup.

Too many Chiefs not enough Indians. the Rangers need to address the problems the team has. they need goaltending and defense but for some reason insist on going after the superstar player everytime. Glen Sather should have realised by now that you don't win that way.

IN the long run the Yagr trade could be a blessing for the Rangers - that is if he recaptures his love of the game and his drive to be the best.

Right now he's getting outshined by the likes of Ilya Kovalchuk and some of the other young stars in the game right now.

But with the possibility of Lindros being done for good - he should hang em up before he gets another serious concussion - the Yagr acquisition could be really good.

But the Rangers need to refocus and start to build form within again. It may take time, but the payoff will be much better than what they've received recently going after so many high profile free agents who totally flop when they get to NYC.
