Im so hard on myself that the other day I saw a bag of barbecue potatoe chips and with out thinking I poped about 4 chips in my mouth and after two chews I spit out the chips in the trash. Has anyone ever done this. Participation wanted.

Yes, I am very hard on myself. I've done the chew and spit thing with almonds several times

Just another step and you're verging on bulimia! I'm not exaggerating here either, I've seen it happen to people. Gradually you hear a voice that tells you that perhaps you could save everything if that last binge was cancelled out. There's a pretty easy solution if you want it that badly.

Not putting anyone down, just saying be careful...

As a recovered bulimic I know that's not the case for me specificly. I've gone through therapy and know my limits, I'm never crossing them again. It's been 3 years since I said "Okay, no more of this self abusive behaviour" and I've never looked back, not even once. Chewing almonds and spitting them out once or twice is not going to change that. But I agree it's not the wisest thing to do, it's an unecessary thing I have no reason doing Thanks for the concern

You're not a lone. I've done this as well.

I'm REALLY bad about that when preparing for a comp.

I have never put food in my mouth and spit it out for anything other than bad taste. Personally, I would not have bought the chips to begin with. To satisfy my crunchy snack cravings, I buy soy chips, Wheat Chex, and low fat microwave popcorn.

I agree.

I'm so hard on myself in a different way.

Unless i am in the middle of or just finishing a workout and have a crazy pump, i feel and look small. i guess thats why i love working out so much, to get that huge pump.
even after my day off, when my muscles havent been pumped for only a day now, i look at myself in the mirror and just get down on myself.

oh well, tis the double edged sword of BB.......always improving, but it'll NEVER be good enough...

Married with two kids. There is always crap laying around. They cook there meals and I cook my meals and they are totally diffrent. I dont buy anything bad my wife and kids do.

You do, of course, have something to back this statement up with, correct?

Yes, my best friends girlfriend started out like this. He got her into the whole fitness routine and healthy eating and she seemed to be really into it at first and doing really well.

Then we started to get concerned about her eating habits. It took a while but she finally admitted she had a problem and it started just as described here by chewing food and spitting it out and then onto making herself sick after splurging on food.

Thankfully she could see that she had a problem and went to talk to a counsellor over a number of weeks. She now sees that eating is essential to a healthy lifestyle and the odd binge or treat won't set her back too much. She's now back on track I'm glad to say

This is exactly my mindset.

If chewed food before, than spit it out-you're not alone. I've even swallowed gum because it tastes so good.
