I cook salmon fillets in my george foreman grill...BUT before hand I cut off the 1 side of scales/skin. Anyone ever grilled salmon with the one side of the skin on? I hate cleaning the scales, its getting yukky! (But its way cheaper to buy that way)

All the time, When you eat it the fillet it will just pull away from the skin, probably alot easier than prior to cooking

I grill salmon on the George too, but I buy the skinless salmon at BJ's Wholesale Club. They charge something like $4 a pound. Not bad at all.

So ID, you just throw it into the grill, 1 side pink, the other side skin? Cutting the skin off prior is so messy.

Ive cooked it with the skin on before and then just peeled it away after, very easy.
ahh I LOVE salmon!!! Mmm I ate 5 er 6 salmon steaks overthe holidays in one sitting

Cool! Im trying to cook it with the skin on tonight. Sats seem to usually be my no carb day, so me and my beau have salmon saturdays! Except he has hashbrowns with his salmon.

Put the salmon skin side down on tin foil. DO NOT spray the foil with anything. Then, grill (on regular grill, not foreman) or broil it. The skin will stick to the foil. Take a sharp spatula and run it between the fish and skin and it comes right off.

Before cooking top with chopped garlic, dill weed and just a touch of salt. Put some lemon on it the last few minutes of cooking. Unbelievably good!! You can also substitute tarragon instead of dill weed for a different taste. Both are excellent.

Thanks Av8tor! I always use garlic and lemon, Im gonna try dill now too!

The skin and just underneath the skin are where most of the good omega fats are on salmon. I usually just eat it along with the fillet. It doesn't taste horrible or anything...

You eat the skin? Like the actual scales?

i make salmon on my foreman all the time.... i leave the skin on, and it comes right off after its cooked. my girlfriend loves the skin but that makes me want to yak.... i put a little lemon and maybe some salt... lime is fun too but a little weird, but i do that when i have no lemons around (i drink about 1/2 to 1 lime's juice in water, its a really good drink if u dont want something too sweet. i dont like to just drink water with my meals) mm m i think im gonna make some tonight.
