Hey, I'm brand new here (obviously) but not new to working out. Although up to this point I had no idea there was so much to it!!!

Anyway, after browsing the boards and putting together as much info as I could, I've put together this plan. I am in the process of trying to bulk up right now, I'm not skinny but not fat, and I'd like to get some muscle built up before I really start to try and lose fat.

To do this I will probably be doing 4-8 reps for each set.

Monday - Chest, triceps, shoulders.

Tuesday - rest

Wednesday - Abs/lower back followed by 15 min HIIT cardio

Thursday - Biceps, Back

Friday - Abs/lower back followed by 15 min HIIT cardio.

Saturday - Legs

Sunday - rest

Now I work out for about an hour every morning before work (7-8am) and then usually come home for a shower and breakfast then go off to work.

As for my eating, which after reading alot of the main threads on this board needs to change as well, here is the plan. Throughout the whole day I usually drink a little more then a gallon of water a day.

Meal #1 (when I get back from working out) - 2 hardboiled eggs and some whole grain toast.

Meal #2 - A protein shake??

Meal #3 - Some salad and a tuna or turkey sandwich

Meal #4 - Some peanuts and an apple or banana.

Meal #5 - Either grilled chicken breast or fish with some frozen veggies, with some cottage cheese.

All of these meals will be about 3 hours apart.

So what do you guys think?? I know there will be places where I need to improve that is why I am typing EVERYTHING.

Also, what are your guys thoughts on milk, cheese and yogurt?? I always thought those were healthy but I'm not seeing any real good things about it.

Anyway THANK YOU to anybody who took the time to read this. I'm very motivated to get going and get myself in shape so any comments will be appreciated!!

Welcome to IM!
My opinion.. you have your 2 ab workouts too close together .I'd at least switch Tuesday and wednesday .

I'd go with 6 meals aday if you can and you need protein every meal . Not goinmg to get much from meal #4

If you start a journal you will probably get a lot of help with diet and exercise.

Hmm... well it's easy to take Tuesday off because I start work earlier.... switch Friday and Saturday maybe?? Or Monday and Wednesday??

Also do you think making Meal #4 a protein shake would help as well??

Thanks for the input!

Sounds good to me , switching Fri and sat.

A protein shake at meal 4 would definetly be better than nuts and fruit.

If you haven't already you might give this a read .

The 2 eggs after the workout comes out to about 14g of protien. I'd say you need a little more than that after workout.
