Anywhone knows if the long term consuption of dextrose
can lead into diabetes?

I can't find any study about this...

Since almost every day we took it in the shake, how would be the
risks of diabetes in the long term use?

bump.

Considering the time you're likely taking it is characterized by increased glucose uptake due to both insulin and non-insulin mediated means, I doubt it's going to prove to be an issue.

Nah, it affects sedentary people.

With my brother being diagnosed with diabetes on Monday, and it running in my family, I think I will ditch trying to spike my insulin post workout.

I'm no doctor, and you should play it safe, but the type of diabetes that you are talking about is called 'Type 2'. Like Vieope said, it only affects sedentary people and usually overweight sedentary people at that. I don't know how many days a week you workout (I'll assume four times, twice a day), but I doubt that 8 insulin spikes a week right after hard physical exertion are going to harm you.

If you're brother was just diagnosed with diabetes then you can tell his doctor you concerns and see if they are valid.

Good luck.

I spike my insulin five times per week only doing so post workout, and yes, even though it may only effect the fat and sedentary people, doing anything to adjust the levels of my pancreas at this point in time is something I don't want to go through.

I will ask his doctor though, for sure.
