Had my wisdom teeth out a couple of weeks ago and the doctor gave me a couple of bottles of mouth wash and said after it was gone to use a 'non-alcohol' mouth wash.
What the hell is the big deal if it has alcohol in it or not? I thought it would be better if it did have alcohol so that it would kill more germs.

I am guessing alcohol will hurt like a bitch on the open holes.

Don't think so bud, I've even had a few the evening that I had them out. Alcohol hasn't hurt it yet or I would be in a hell of a lot of pain

Oh. Then I don't know. Just listen to the damn doctor.

If I did that then I wouldn't be having a drink for the first two weeks after the operation, and who the hell would want to go through that sober?

the alcohol dries out your mouth's protective mucous layer.

(so dilute your alcohol with a mixer of some sort )

You can get whats called Dry Socket. My sister had it and it hurt like hell.

I hope I get some ES Vic's. I have to get my damn wisdom teeth removed soon.

When fade had his out the Oral Surgeon specifically said NOT to use regular mouthwash because it is too harsh. He said to use Biotene® Gentle Mouthwash.

Not sure I seen that brand before, must be an American thing only, but I'll have a look. Thanx
