Originally posted by I Are Baboon The ONLY time hockey gets this much press in the U.S. is when something bad like this happens. I love hockey and it's a shame the only news people hear about it is bad news. |

Originally posted by irontime That's what I think, I also think that he should pay Moore his salary until he can play again. |

Originally posted by Jezziah The media coverage for something like this is unfortunate, not only is ESPN covering but so are the major networks. The end result of this leads to a public opinion that hockey is too violent. Fighting is definetly part of the game and the NHL would lose a marketable element without it but they may feel a lot of pressure to crack down on the violence especially with the extent of Moore's injuries and the flurry of media coverage |

Fuck Gary Bettman give your damn head a shake you fuck ass.

Originally posted by ArduousMeister So I think someone needs to play devil's advocate on this, first off I want to say that I think it was a bad move on Bertuzzi's part especially considering the caliber player he is, but he made is bed. First off Moore has to expect that he will become a marked man for giving Marcus Nasland a concussion. A questionable hit on one of the leagues top players. Bertuzzi was following Moore, pulling on his Jersey trying to get him to fight. Since he did not step up Bertuzzi got frustrated and punched him. Now I have seen guys get hit like that on the ice before, Bertuzzi still had his glove on. Buy some chance Bertuzzi knocked him out with one punch. When Moore fell to the ice he cracked a couple of vertebrae in his neck, which is very sad and tragic. If Bertuzzi hadn’t knocked him out with one punch he would have only sat in the box for 2 minutes. Well that I just my 2 cents. |
