I have a basket ball game tommorow at 9pm. I was thinking about going to they gym at 5am or going to the gym at 5pm. If I went at 5pm would this be too much. I will have 2 and half hours to rest before tip off. Chest day tommorow. Which one would you do?

Hit the weights in the morning. Give yourself some time to rest before the game.

Skip the chest tomorrow. Do a full body workout/warmup. Lighter weights, at 5 PM, just to get there all pumped.

I wouldn't work my arms or delts very hard if I were you. I did this once before a pickup game and it was really painfull. Not to mention my game was way off.

my buddy from work did shoulders and deadlifts (deadlifts only because i told him i pulled 405 and he wanted to hit that too...never made it
) one day and then went to play ball almost right after. Next day he told me he scored like 2 points the whole game and couldn't do shit on the court.

Whatever you do, dont workout anywhere close to game time, especially if your doing anything involving triceps. Triceps have a lot to do with how you shoot, and if you work them out before you will be WAY off.

i say you can train with moderate intensity, except don't train legs. thats the absolute worst thing to do before a basketball game.

I vote morning, have time to rest up after.

My advice to you, don't train.
Peace.

I'd take the whole day off. No need to do to much. I wouldn't go after the game cause you won't have enough in ya. I wouldn't go before because I think it would throw off your shot. But I have always heard that Jordan worked out on game days before the game.
